Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 221

221 Chapter 221

221.Chapter 221

Ophelia glanced at Victoria, biting her lip and hesitating before finally blurting out, “Mom, what would you do if Chloe messed up?”

Victoria’s face turned serious, her brows furrowing. “Ophelia, what are you getting at?”

“I mean, just in case…” Ophelia took a cautious step back, testing the waters. “Would you let me take care of it?”

Chloe had been part of the family for ages, and Ophelia worried her mom might go easy on her.

Victoria squeezed Ophelia’s hand, her trust clear in her eyes. “If something like that ever happens, I know you’ll handle it, Ophelia.”

She didn’t really understand why Ophelia was asking, but there was no reason not to agree. She knew Ophelia was principled and never acted on impulse.

Ophelia smiled, a wave of warmth washing over her heart.

Having her family’s unconditional support was all she ever wanted.

“You don’t look so good. Go back to your room and get some rest,” Victoria said, her voice gentle but firm.

“Okay,” Ophelia nodded, but her eyes drifted toward the kitchen.

Just then, Chloe peeked out, and their eyes met. Ophelia shot her a cold look, and Chloe’s smile stiffened instantly.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow, pretending not to notice, and headed straight for the elevator.

On the surface, everything seemed calm these past few days, but Ophelia knew that Chloe, the resident schemer, was anything but quiet behind closed doors. ‘Let her play her little games, Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes inwardly. ‘I can’t even be bothered to waste my energy on her.’

Once Ophelia was in the elevator, Chloe came out with a cup of tea, her voice sweet and attentive. “Mrs. Rowle, why don’t you take a break and have some tea?”

“Okay.” Victoria replied, taking the cup and glancing up at Chloe.

“Is everything alright, Mrs. Rowle?” Chloe asked, her tone cautious.

Victoria gave a faint smile and shook her head. “No, nothing.”

She looked away, sipping her tea with quiet grace, not paying Chloe any more attention.

Chloe let out a quiet sigh of relief. For a moment, she thought Victoria had looked at her with a complicated expression, but maybe she was just imagining things.

But right now, her top priority was to tell Zoe what she’d just found out. She had a bad feeling. If things kept going like this, Zoe might end up with nothing.

‘Hmph, Chloe thought to herself.

‘Ophelia, having grown up away from home, is always thinking ten steps ahead. No wonder she’s so hard to deal with.”‘

‘Zoe’s been spoiled since day one. How could she ever hope to keep up?”

If she didn’t help out, Zoe would be the one getting the short end of the stick.

Back in her room, Ophelia carefully checked her injuries again, changed into fresh clothes, and sat down on the edge of her bed.

Her gaze darkened, and her whole vibe turned cold. ‘No more playing nice,’ Ophelia thought to herself.

Suddenly, her phone rang. Ophelia picked up. “Ella.”
