Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 222

222 Chapter 222

222.Chapter 222

“Wow, those two!” Ella exclaimed, genuinely surprised. “Mr. King must really be into Layla if he’s dropping that kind of cash on her.”

And honestly, the Kingston Group wasn’t exactly in great shape either.

“Who knows?” Ophelia shrugged, not really caring.

“So what do we do now? If the Vossen family really gets help from the Kingston Group, the Vossen Group might actually bounce back,” Ella asked, worry clear in her voice.

Ophelia’s eyes narrowed, her tone frosty. “The Vossen Group doesn’t get any help unless I allow it.”

She hadn’t cared about the Vossen family or the Vossen Group before, but Cameron Vossen crossed the line with her. Now, she wasn’t going to show any mercy.

Ella instantly perked up. “Got it, Boss. I’m all ears.”

Boss hadn’t said anything, but while digging around, Ella had already learned about the trouble Ophelia had gotten into.’ Cameron Vossen really went too far this time, she thought.

Now that Boss was pissed, Cameron was basically asking for it.

“Make the arrangements…” Ophelia’s voice was cold as ice, every word dripping with menace.

“You got it, Boss. Leave it to me,” Ella said with a smug grin. “I’ll make sure they pay for every single thing they’ve done.” “Okay.” As she hung up, a shadow flickered in Ophelia’s eyes, dark and dangerous.

“Knock, knock, knock.”

Chloe’s voice came from outside the door. “Ophelia, your mom asked me to bring you some milk before you rest.”

Ophelia opened the door, glanced at the milk, and took it. “Thanks, just give it to me.”

“Alright.” Chloe handed her the glass. “Have some milk and get some rest. I’ll come back for the glass after you’ve rested.”

“Yeah, no hurry,” Ophelia replied, then closed the door.

Back at her bed, Ophelia glanced at the glass of milk, a mocking smile tugging at her lips. ‘Really can’t sit still, can you?’ she thought.

She poured the milk straight into the flower pot, set the glass aside, then flopped onto her bed and closed her eyes.

She was exhausted today. Whatever else needed to be done could wait until she’d gotten some rest.

She slept straight through until the afternoon.

Ophelia heard the click of the door lock, and her eyes shot open.

As soon as she sensed the door opening and someone coming in, she quickly shut her eyes again, pretending to be asleep.

The rustling footsteps told her there were two people in the room.

“Is this really gonna work?” an unfamiliar voice asked.

“She drank the milk. She won’t be waking up anytime soon,” Chloe replied.

Ophelia kept her eyes shut, pretending to be completely out, but she was secretly tracking every move they made.

‘They’re making their move now? Can’t even wait a single minute?’ Ophelia thought, a trace of sarcasm in her mind.

‘These two have some guts, trying to pull this off right under my own roof,’ she thought.

‘What gives them the nerve to act like nothing can touch them?’ Ophelia thought, a hint of scorn in her mind.

“Chloe, is this really gonna work?” someone whispered nervously

“Don’t worry, I’ve set everything up. Victoria’s the only one here and she’s already asleep. I made sure everyone else is out of the way. We won’t get caught,” Chloe said, sounding totally sure of herself. “Just stick to my plan, and once it’s done, you’ll get your cut.”
