Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 228

228 Chapter 228

228.Chapter 228

“Alright, let’s eat,” Adrian said, his face relaxing as he turned to Zoe. “Zoe, just a reminder, everything’s fine now. Go eat.”

Even though he still didn’t have the full picture, he chose to trust Ophelia.

Zoe bit her lip, nodding sweetly. “I understand, dad.”

On the surface, Zoe looked all meek and obedient, but inside, her heart was boiling with resentment.

She blamed Adrian and Victoria, but the one she truly hated was Ophelia.

Adrian and Victoria had always treated her like a princess, even listened to her every word. But now, just because Ophelia said something, they started doubting her and even turned on her. How was she supposed to accept that?

‘Seriously, Adrian and Victoria are so biased, Zoe thought, bitterness flooding her chest.

‘Then what was I to them all these years? Did it all mean nothing?’ Zoe wondered, feeling utterly worthless.

At the dinner table, Victoria piled food onto Ophelia’s plate. “Ophelia, eat up. You’ve had a rough day, and it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t slept so soundly, maybe none of this would’ve happened.”

Ophelia shook her head, trying to comfort her. “She’s been scheming for a long time. Even if it hadn’t happened today, it would’ve happened sooner or later.”

Even though she’d been swamped with work and hadn’t even set foot on campus lately, Ophelia had still noticed all the little tricks Zoe and Chloe had been pulling.

Since Chloe finally made her move today, Ophelia figured she might as well let them have their shot.

Chloe had been helping Zoe stir up trouble for her again and again. Ophelia’s patience was wearing thin.

Victoria’s face went pale. “It’s all my fault for not seeing through her.”

“She was hiding it on purpose. No way you could’ve known,” Ophelia said with a dismissive shrug. ‘Honestly, if Chloe hadn’t made her hatred so obvious, even I wouldn’t have guessed she was that twisted inside, she thought.

Victoria let out a heavy sigh.

Adrian tried to comfort her. “The police are looking into it. They’ll make sure we get a proper answer.”

“Yeah, mom, let’s just eat. No need to talk about the bad stuff. It’s all behind us now,” Ophelia said, then turned to Zoe with a smile. “Zoe, you’re always the sweetest. Shouldn’t you be comforting Mom right now?”

“I…” Zoe’s face turned pale. She clenched her teeth, then put on a caring act. “Mom, it’s all Chloe’s fault. How could you blame yourself?”

Ophelia watched Zoe looking all aggrieved and holding it in, and her lips curled into a faint smirk.

‘Go ahead, keep pretending. Isn’t faking it your favorite thing?’ Ophelia thought.

‘Let’s see how long you can keep up the act this time, Ophelia mused.

The next day, the sun was shining bright.

Ophelia woke up in a good mood and headed downstairs.

She saw Zoe already downstairs, attentively pouring milk for Victoria. Ophelia raised an eyebrow.

‘Wow, this little bitch is seriously tough. She bounced back overnight, and now she’s even sweeter than before, Ophelia thought.

“Come have some breakfast, Ophelia,” Zoe said with a bright smile, pouring her a glass of milk.
