Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 234

Chapter 234

Chapter 234

He’d been bothered by the rest of them all day, just seeing their faces annoyed him. But Ophelia? She was the only one who ever bothered to look out for him.

Seeing Tristan’s mood lighten, Ophelia let a small smile tug at her lips. She turned to Asher, raising an eyebrow. “Uncle Asher, you just got back and you’re already scolding me with that stern face. Did I do something so terrible everyone’s mad at me?”

“Don’t you know what you did?” Asher’s face darkened, he was clearly pissed.

Just thinking about those five percent shares landing in her hands made his blood boil.

By the time they got the news, it was already too late. They rushed to wrap up their work and flew back home, hoping to convince their dad to change his mind.

But they spent the whole day arguing, and Tristan just wouldn’t take the shares back.

Now, every time Asher saw Ophelia, he was so mad he wished he could just force her to cough up those shares.

“Me?” Ophelia’s eyes narrowed for a second as she said, genuinely puzzled, “Uncle Asher, are you serious? I literally just got here, I haven’t done a thing.”

‘Wow, Uncle Asher is really gunning for me; Ophelia thought.

“You didn’t do anything? Then how did you get your hands on those five percent shares?” Asher snapped. ‘She just walked in and already got five percent of Dad’s shares handed to her? Talk about skills, he thought.

“Shut your mouth,” Tristan barked, his voice icy and commanding. “I’m saying this one last time, this has nothing to do with any of you. Don’t ever bring it up again, or you can forget about ever stepping foot in this house.”

He’d already put up with their nagging all day, and now they actually had the nerve to interrogate Ophelia right in front of him.

A flash of realization flickered in Ophelia’s eyes. ‘So this is what they’re all worked up about,’ she thought.

She’d been wondering why Asher had been nitpicking her the second she walked in; that explained the attitude.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow at Asher, looking completely innocent. “Grandpa gave me the shares. Was I supposed to do anything else?”

“You!” Asher’s face was flushed with anger, jaw clenched tight. “You just accept it without a second thought? You’re so immature!”

‘And she’s being so brazen about it, like she’s totally in the right. She’s seriously driving me up the wall, he fumed.

“Grandpa gave it to me, how could I say ‘ho?” Ophelia replied, all wide-eyed innocence. “Honestly, I think refusing him would be the real disrespect.”

She flashed Tristan a cheeky grin. “Isn’t that right, Grandpa?”

Tristan nodded enthusiastically, backing her up. “Exactly, that’s how it should be.”

‘See? I knew Ophelia was the only one who actually understands me,’ he thought.

“But now that I think about it…” Ophelia paused, then turned to Asher and Henry with a playful grin. “When I came back, everyone else in the family gave me a gift, Grandpa, Grandma, Mom, Dad, even Adrian. So, what did you two get me?”

“Gifts?” Asher and Henry were totally stumped, left speechless on the spot.
