Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 236

Chapter 236

Chapter 236

He thought he could play smart, but it totally backfired. Not only did he lose out on the shares, even the gifts he’d carefully picked out to win over Tristan ended up in Ophelia’s hands.

The more Asher looked at Ophelia, the more she was really starting to get under his skin. Now he totally got why Daphne wouldn’t stop griping about how much trouble Ophelia was ever since she showed up.

He realized now, Ophelia was definitely not someone he could take lightly.

Asher glanced at Henry, who gave him a subtle smile and a shake of the head, telling him to keep cool. ‘Hold back. We need a long-term plan, Henry was clearly hinting.

Asher was annoyed, but he had to bite his tongue and force himself to chill out.

‘Looks like I really need to rethink my strategy here, Asher thought.

The atmosphere was so tense it felt almost eerie. Zoe, always the peacemaker, piped up, “Uncle Asher, Uncle Henry, you guys finally made it back. It’s been ages since you saw Grandpa, why not sit and catch up with him for a bit?”

“Oh, right, Dad. Looks like almost everyone’s here. Why don’t we all sit down and eat? We can chat over dinner,” Henry said, seizing the chance to smooth things over.

Victoria nodded. “Sounds good. Oliver and Owen should be here any minute, so let’s start eating and wait for them to join

At this point, the best thing was for the whole family to just have a proper meal together, no need to risk getting Tristan even more worked up.

“Fine, let’s go eat,” Tristan finally agreed.

‘Once dinner’s done, I’ll kick them all out. I still want to have a proper chat with Ophelia, Tristan thought.

Everyone headed off to the dining room together.

“Ophelia, you know, there were a few things Asher and Henry mentioned earlier that you might want to think about,” Claire said with a soft sigh. “They weren’t just talking for your sake, they’re also thinking about what’s best for the whole Rowle family.

“Huh?” Ophelia blinked, a little confused. “What are you talking about?”

“Oh, it’s not a big deal, but you should probably pay a bit more attention to your clothes. Now that you’re a Rowle, you ought to carry yourself like one, right?” Claire said, her tone gentle, almost like she was just chatting.

“So Auntie Claire, what kind of clothes do you think are actually worthy of my new status?” Ophelia asked, arching an eyebrow with playful curiosity.

“Even if you don’t want to go all prim and proper, you could at least wear something with a designer label,” Scarlett sneered, her lips twisted in obvious disdain.

‘Cheap is cheap. Even as a Rowle heiress, she still looks like she crawled out of a bargain bin, Scarlett thought bitterly.

“Oh, is that so?” Ophelia looked up at them, a teasing glint in her eyes. “Well, Auntie Scarlett, Auntie Claire, you really don’t have to worry.

“My clothes might not be the most ladylike, but trust me, they’re all top designer brands. I’m not about to make the Rowle family look bad.”
