Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 238

Chapter 238

Chapter 238

“Ophelia, is it… because of Dylan that they’re willing to do this for you?” Zoe asked, still clinging to that last shred of hope, praying it was all thanks to Dylan.

Ophelia gave her a cold, mocking smile. “You know I was wearing this kind of stuff way before I ever came back to the Rowle family.”

She’d designed every piece herself, just had Ella set up the right people to make them.

Honestly, she just liked how comfortable they were, made everything she did a whole lot easier.

Zoe’s face went ghostly pale, and she actually staggered back a step. ‘So Ophelia really got Caterina’s special treatment all on her own? But how the hell did she manage that?’ Zoe thought, her mind spinning.

“Yeah, Ophelia always dressed like that before,” Zoe chimed in, acting all sweet and innocent. Then she paused, looking all self-assured as she guessed, “It must be thanks to the Vossen family’s connections.”

Zoe just couldn’t wrap her head around the idea that Ophelia had that kind of pull all by herself.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow, shooting Zoe a look, and she clocked every little trick Zoe was trying to pull.

‘This little fake innocent really won’t stop trying to throw shade, Ophelia thought.

‘Does she really think she’ll look better by trying to tear me down?’ Ophelia scoffed to herself.

‘Keep dreaming, Ophelia snorted inwardly.

“Does the Vossen family really have that kind of pull?” Scarlett muttered, looking totally baffled.

‘Ophelia used to live with the Vossen family, right? So maybe she got all this thanks to their connections, Scarlett thought.

‘But isn’t the Vossen family just a third-rate company? They don’t even have any real clout in Dunhollow, Scarlett wondered, her mind spinning.

“You’re absolutely right, Scarlett. The Vossen family doesn’t have that kind of clout,” Ophelia said, tilting her chin with a proud little smirk. “They couldn’t even dream of affording anything from Caterina.”

“If even the Vossen family can’t pull it off, what makes you so special? Who do you think you’re fooling?” Daphne sneered, shooting Ophelia a mocking look.

‘Finally caught you slipping. Still putting on airs?’ Daphne thought, feeling triumphant.

Ophelia suddenly shot Daphne a cheeky, triumphant grin. “Maybe it’s just because I’m adorable. Guess the folks at Caterina just really like me.”

“You!” Daphne was so mad she looked like she was about to blow a gasket. She glared at Ophelia and snapped, “Ever heard of being humble? Do you even know what modesty is?”

‘Seriously, who talks themselves up like that? She’s just giving herself way too much credit!’ Daphne fumed.

“That’s not important.” Ophelia arched a brow, her voice dripping with challenge. “What really matters is, I could have Caterina blacklist you for good, don’t even bother placing an order.”

“You wouldn’t dare!” Daphne exploded, her eyes blazing with fury as she glared at Ophelia.

“Go ahead, try me,” Ophelia lifted her chin, giving Daphne a proud, challenging look.

Ophelia really knew how to hit where it hurt.

Daphne was fuming, but she didn’t dare say another word.

She was actually scared. If Ophelia was for real and she got blacklisted from Caterina, she’d be totally done in this circle, she’d never live it down.

What really freaked her out was that she actually believed Ophelia could pull it off.

Daphne’s heart sank, and she felt a chill run through her. Without even thinking, she slipped behind Scarlett, hoping Ophelia would stop paying attention to her.
