Chapter 239

Chapter 239

Ophelia thought, ‘Claire and Asher are both two-faced. It’s rare to see her unable to keep up the act

“Yeah, we’re on pretty good terms,” Ophelia said, looping her arm through Victoria’s. “Mom, one of these days I’ll take you to their headquarters and help you get a custom-made tight-fitting dress.

“The anniversary gala is coming up soon, so you can show off your new dress there.”

“You really don’t have to go to all that trouble,” Victoria replied with a gentle smile, her heart feeling warm. “I already have plenty of clothes.”

“But those are just your regular clothes, this one’s a special gift from me. It’s not the same,” Ophelia pouted a little, acting cute as she shook Victoria’s arm.

Victoria gave her a doting smile and agreed, “Alright, whatever you say, sweetheart.”

Since it was her daughter’s heartfelt gesture, of course Victoria couldn’t refuse.

As they listened to the conversation, Scarlett’s face twisted with jealousy, and Claire could barely keep her smile from slipping.

Scarlett and Claire thought, ‘If only we hadn’t doubted Ophelia before, maybe we could’ve asked her to help us get a custom dress too.

‘That’s a Caterina dress!

‘They don’t usually do custom orders. Over the years, only two have ever been made, and those went to people with a special relationship with Caterina’s boss.

‘But now, all we can do is just stand here and watch.’

After all, even if they swallowed their pride and begged Ophelia now, she probably wouldn’t do them any favors.

Ophelia and Victoria were already walking off together, chatting as they headed toward the restaurant.

Scarlett and Claire exchanged a look, then reluctantly followed after them.

Daphne hung her head, looking totally out of it, like she’d just been hit by a truck.

Zoe stared after them, her eyes getting darker by the second. She pressed her nails so hard into her palms it almost hurt, anything to keep herself from snapping.

She just couldn’t figure out how Ophelia could be so unapologetically confident.

To Ophelia, the Rowle family and the Vossen family were just places to crash. If she wanted, she could make it anywhere and still live her best life.

‘Seriously, what makes Ophelia so damn confident? How does she pull it off? Zoe thought.

Zoe was pissed. ‘What makes me any worse than Ophelia?’ she thought.

“Zoe, what are you doing standing here all alone?” A voice suddenly called out, startling her.

She instinctively turned and met Oliver’s cold gaze.

The hatred in her eyes hadn’t faded yet, and Oliver saw it all.

Oliver’s eyes narrowed, his gaze growing even darker. ‘What was that look in her eyes just now?’ he thought.

“Oliver,” Zoe said, instantly switching to her sweet, obedient persona. “Grandpa said it’s time to eat. We were just waiting for you and Owen. You guys showed up right on cue, let’s head over.”

“Zoe, why were you just standing here zoning out?” Owen asked, tilting his head in confusion.

Zoe flashed a soft smile and said, “It’s nothing, I was just about to join everyone.”

“Alright, let’s go!” Owen called out, already dashing ahead with a big grin, making a beeline for Ophelia. “Ophelia!”

“Owen, you’re here! Come sit with me,” Ophelia said, totally used to Owen clinging to her, and honestly, she found it pretty

adorable.

Once Owen sat down, Oliver and Zoe joined them at the table.

After Oliver and Owen greeted everyone, Tristan said, “Looks like everyone’s here. Let’s eat.”

“Alright,” everyone replied, and the whole famil Successfully unlocked!r tension, chatting and eating like nothing had

happened.

“Oliver, I heard things have been going well at headquarters. You’ve really been putting in the work,” Henry said with a warm
