Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 244

Chapter 244

Chapter 244

Alaric flashed her a wicked, meaningful smile. “So, Ophelia, what do you think the real point is?”

“It was an accident, okay? What just happened was an accident,” Ophelia mumbled, avoiding his gaze.

Inside, Ophelia was totally freaking out, her cheeks were on fire.

But of course, this guy just wouldn’t drop it, still trying to make her own up to it.

“Even if it was an accident, it still happened,” Alaric said, his voice so gentle it was almost seductive. “Ophelia, are you just going to act like nothing happened?”

Ophelia opened her mouth, but for once, she was completely at a loss for words.

Seeing her stunned, Alaric smirked with a hint of mischief.

‘Guess this girl really does see me in a new light now, Alaric thought, a hint of satisfaction in his heart.

After all, for someone as cool, strong, and sensitive as her, even she was left completely tongue-tied.

“You feel the same way, right, Ophelia? So it’s settled, I’m yours from now on. You better not let me go,” Alaric grinned, then suddenly dipped down and stole a quick kiss from her lips. “Sealed with a kiss.”

Ophelia’s eyes flew wide open, her brain short-circuited, fireworks going off inside her head.

“Alaric!” Ophelia’s cheeks flared crimson, mortified and furious.

“It’s only fair we each get one,” Alaric said, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

With that, he sat back down, grabbed his fork, and said, “Let’s eat. After this, I’ll take you home.”

Ophelia glared at him, her thoughts all tangled up in chaos.

‘What’s with all this sealing stuff? Did I ever agree to any of it?’ she fumed, totally flustered.

Alaric looked down, hiding the smoldering heat in his eyes.

He had to admit, he totally lost control just now. Her lips were dangerously tempting, pulling him in before he even realized it.

There was still that unique sweetness lingering on her lips, making him just want to drown in her all over again…

The next day.

Sunlight spilled into the room, gently waking her from sleep.

Ophelia slowly opened her eyes, glanced at the clock, and sighed in resignation.

“I can’t believe I slept this late,” Ophelia muttered as she sat up, grumbling, “Alaric is so annoying.”

She couldn’t get any sleep after coming home, just kept tossing and turning all night.

All night, her brain kept replaying everything that happened at the restaurant, leaving her a nervous wreck and totally unable to sleep. She only managed to doze off when the sun was coming up, no wonder she woke up so late.

Ophelia tossed off the covers, rolled out of bed, did a quick wash, threw on some clothes, and headed downstairs.

“Ophelia, you’re finally up,” Victoria called out, her face full of concern. “You got home super late last night. Did something happen?”

“It’s nothing,” Ophelia said with a reassuring smile. “Just had a few things to deal with, so I got back late.” Victoria didn’t ask any more questions, just watched Ophelia leave and called after her, “If you’re free tonight, come home early. I’ll have the kitchen make something delicious for you.”

“Okay,” Ophelia replied, then headed out of the Rowle residence.

Watching Ophelia’s retreating figure, Victoria couldn’t help but smile herself.
