Chapter 250
Chapter 250
“Honestly, I didn’t expect you to be so rash. You should’ve talked to me first. Locking people up? That’s a bit much, don’t you think?” she continued.
“Help me? Then why didn’t you come help me yourself?” Ophelia shot back, her eyes glinting with challenge, basically daring Felicity, ‘If you’d stepped in, I’d have tossed you in there too.
Felicity’s smile faltered for a split second and suddenly it hit her. No wonder Daphne totally lost her nerve whenever Ophelia’s name came up.
She used to think Daphne was just being dramatic, but now she saw it: Ophelia was seriously not someone to mess with.
Ophelia shot Felicity a cold, piercing look. “And let’s be clear, I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine. It’s not about being impulsive.”
‘If you hadn’t started this mess, I wouldn’t have even bothered with you, she thought.
“Ophelia, you know, you’re really making a lot of enemies like this. People will start looking down on the Rowle family because of you,” Felicity said, pretending to be all worried.
“Save the moral lecture. If anyone’s offended, it’s because you started it. If you hadn’t told them to lock me up, none of this would’ve happened.
“They had it coming, and honestly, you’re the one to blame,” Ophelia replied, arms folded, not bothered at all.
Either way, none of this was on her.
Honestly, she was the real victim here.
Ophelia’s words instantly made the atmosphere awkward and tense.
The girls traded uncertain glances, then looked at Felicity with conflicted expressions.
Felicity’s smile was starting to crack, and resentment simmered beneath the surface as she glared at Ophelia.
‘Damn, she’s got a silver tongue. Just a few lines and she nearly turned my whole crew against me,’ Felicity thought, annoyed.
These girls had been her loyal followers since childhood, always sticking by her side no matter what.
Felicity forced a smile, still playing the good sister. “Ophelia, don’t take things so personally. You’ve only just come back to the Rowle family, and I just want everyone to think well of you. That’s why I’m trying to help you get along with everyone.”
Ophelia shot Felicity a frosty glare. “If you all leave me alone, I wouldn’t even waste my time on you.”
Then Ophelia shot a sharp warning look at the rest. “I’ll let it go this time, but next time, you’d better watch yourselves and don’t bother me again.”
‘What a bunch of clueless sheep, Felicity could stab them in the back and they’d still thank her for it, Ophelia thought with a sneer.
The girls turned even paler, frozen in place, not daring to agree, but too scared to refuse.
*****
“Ophelia.” Alaric strode over, his aura cool and tense.
