Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 271

Chapter 271

Chapter 271

But Ophelia was no fool. There was no way she’d just stand by and let Felicity have her way.

If Felicity wanted to embarrass her, she’d better be ready to get embarrassed herself.

“You…” Felicity hadn’t expected Ophelia to call her out so bluntly. Her face went pale as she started acting all fragile. “You’ve got it all wrong. I was just trying to get up.”

“Felicity, we’ve only met twice since you came back, and I’ve ‘misunderstood’ you both times,” Ophelia snorted, her voice cold. “Maybe you should check yourself. Why do I never get it wrong with anyone else, but it’s always you?”

Felicity was always stirring up drama for her, and whenever she got caught, she’d play the victim and say Ophelia misunderstood her. She was the ultimate bitch.

“Ophelia, you!” Felicity’s face turned every shade of the rainbow in an instant.

She wanted nothing more than to shut Ophelia up for good. How could she humiliate her like this in front of Declan?

Gritting her teeth, Felicity’s face went ghostly pale as she choked out, her voice trembling with hurt, “What did I ever do to you? Why do you keep assuming the worst about me?”

“Cut the act. No one’s buying it,” Ophelia shot Felicity a look of pure disdain and walked away, clearly disgusted.

Seriously, what a joke.

“Ophelia,” Declan called out, moving to follow her on instinct, but Felicity grabbed his arm. “Declan, my foot hurts.”

“If your foot hurts, just call 911 or something. I can’t help you,” Declan said, shaking off Felicity’s hand and heading straight after Ophelia.

“Declan!” Felicity cried out, her voice desperate, but Declan didn’t even slow down.

Watching them walk away, Felicity’s expression turned stormy.

‘Why? Whenever Ophelia’s around, Declan won’t even look at me. Doesn’t even care if I’m hurt or not, Felicity thought bitterly.

And Ophelia actually dared to walk all over her. That was just crossing the line.

“Ophelia, I won’t let you get away with this. Declan is mine, and mine alone,” Felicity spat, her eyes burning with venom as she clenched her teeth.

She’d make sure Ophelia paid for this. No matter what.

Outside the restaurant, Declan had just caught up to Ophelia when he saw Alaric standing tall and imposing right in front of her.

Declan paused, his expression stiffening for a moment before he finally spoke. “Mr. Caldwell.”

“Mr. Blackwell, fancy running into you here,” Alaric said, raising an eyebrow as his gaze swept over the two of them, a hint of something unreadable in his eyes.

“Yeah, just having lunch with little Ophelia,” Declan replied, instinctively stepping closer to Ophelia’s side. The way he called her by her name just slipped out.

Alaric’s eyes narrowed, a hint of danger flashing in his gaze.

Did he just call her…?’ Alaric wondered, his thoughts spinning.

‘Ophelia?’ he repeated inwardly, surprised.

‘Since when were they this close?’ Alaric thought, feeling a twinge of annoyance.

Chapter 271

“So you ditched the meeting just to have lunch with him?” Alaric said, his voice calm but cold, the anger barely hidden beneath the surface.

“Mr. Caldwell, do you and Ophelia have business to discuss?” Declan replied, playing dumb. “Ophelia’s allowed to have her own free time, isn’t she?”

“Her time is hers to spend however she wants. No one can control her,” Alaric said, shooting Ophelia a sideways glance. The wounded look in his eyes made Ophelia unable to meet his gaze.
