Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 273

Chapter 273

Chapter 273

“Huh?” Ophelia looked up, a bit lost. She’d been quietly eating, not saying a word, so this was what he’d been stewing over?

“No one else gets that privilege,” Alaric said, his voice low and stubborn.

‘She’s mine. No one else gets to call her something so close,’ Alaric thought.

Ophelia frowned, clearly annoyed. “What do you mean by ‘other men’? Besides my family, only you call me that, and honestly, you shouldn’t either, you’re not anyone special to me.”

‘Now he’s acting all bossy again. Seriously, what does this have to do with him?’ Ophelia thought.

“You’re my fiancée,” Alaric declared, his voice brimming with possessiveness. He paused for a beat before adding, “If you’re willing, we can hold an engagement party right now and announce it to the whole world.”

He genuinely longed for his little darling Ophelia to accept him soon, only then could he finally put his restless heart to rest.

“Stop, don’t get ahead of yourself,” Ophelia blurted out, her voice urgent as she tried to stop him.

She wasn’t having any of it. An engagement party? No way, who said she’d agreed to that?

“Then promise me, no other guy gets to call you little Ophelia,” Alaric said, his voice tight with jealousy. Just the thought of someone else saying it made his skin crawl, he honestly wished he could mute them forever.

“No one else calls me that,” Ophelia shot back. ‘Seriously, it’s just you and my family. Where’s this mysterious other guy” you keep freaking out about?’ she thought.

Alaric’s face fell, looking genuinely hurt. “Declan just called you little Ophelia right in front of me, and you still say no one else does?”

“Declan?” Ophelia blinked, confused. “No, he didn’t, he called me Ophelia, didn’t he?”

She’d been too busy wondering why Alaric had suddenly shown up to even notice what Declan was saying.

‘Pretty sure Declan called me Ophelia, not anything else,’ she thought, still puzzled.

Alaric caught the confusion in Ophelia’s eyes, and a faint, almost hidden smile tugged at his lips. ‘So it wasn’t that she was okay with Declan calling her that, she just hadn’t noticed,’ he realized, relief flooding through him.

All the tension in his heart melted away in an instant, and his eyes sparkled with a deeper smile.

“Oh, I see. That’s good,” Alaric said, his voice softening as he spoke to her in a gentle, persuasive way. Ophelia, next time, make it clear to him and turn him down right in front of him.”

“So,

‘If she does that, Declan will finally get the hint and stop having any ideas about my little darling,’ Alaric thought, feeling a wave of relief.

Ophelia rolled her eyes at him, her tone laced with a warning. “Stop wasting your time here and just go already.”

None of this made sense to her. ‘He probably just misheard,’ Ophelia thought.

Not wanting to get stuck on this any longer, she quickly changed the subject.

“Alright, whatever you say, little Ophelia. You’re the boss,” Alaric said, surprisingly easygoing for once.

Ophelia breathed a silent sigh of relief. ‘Thank goodness he didn’t come out with anything else wild,’ she thought.

“You’re actually listening to me?” Ophelia gave him a look that screamed ‘seriously?” “If you were, you wouldn’t even be here right now.”

“No way, I have to be here. What if someone’s making moves on my fiancée and I’m clueless about it?” Alaric said, shaking his head, looking dead serious about protecting what’s his.

Ophelia just rolled her eyes at him again, not even surprised.

Ophelia got up and walked out without even glancing back at him
