Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 290

Chapter 290

Chapter 290

“Hard to say if they’re really that close, but I did find out Zoe met up with Felicity after she left yesterday and handed her an envelope. No clue what was inside,” Ella said, sighing in frustration.

Too bad Felicity just grabbed the file and went straight home. If she’d stuck around, Ella totally would’ve tried to snoop and see what was inside.

Ophelia’s eyes lit up with understanding. “So you mean Zoe gave the file to Felicity?”

‘No wonder Oliver said all they knew was Asher was making moves, but couldn’t find any proof; Ophelia thought. ‘They were looking in the wrong direction. Of course they couldn’t find anything if they were just watching Asher and Henry. It turns out Felicity was the missing link all along.’

‘If Zoe used Felicity to pass the file, then Felicity actually has a reason to help her, Ophelia mused.

‘So that’s their exchange. Each of them gets what they want out of it, Ophelia concluded.

“At least their goals are clear,” Ophelia scoffed, her tone dripping with contempt.

Asher wants the Rowle Group HQ’s project, and Zoe’s after Alaric Caldwell.

“Boss, what’s our next move?” Ella asked, lowering her voice.

“Let Alaric handle Felicity. As for Zoe…” Ophelia’s lips curled into a cold, mocking smile. “She’s doomed to end up empty-handed.”

Felicity crossed Alaric, and there’s no way she’ll walk away unscathed.

As for Zoe, she’s bound to end up with absolutely nothing. That’s just her fate.

“Knock, knock, knock.”

After a knock, the secretary opened the door. “Ms. Draven, the other party has arrived. The meeting can start

now.”

“Alright,” Ophelia replied, getting up and heading out of her office.

She made her way to the conference room in no time.

When Ophelia saw who was on the other side of the table, her eyes narrowed for a split second. ‘Wait, it’s him?’ she thought, a flicker of surprise crossing her face.

“I’m George Brown, Chairman of Radiance United Group,” Mr. Brown said, rising to his feet and introducing himself to Ophelia with a warm smile in his eyes.

Ophelia’s gaze landed on Mr. Lawson, who was standing next to him, her eyes cold as ice.

Mr. Lawson gave an awkward, helpless smile. “Ms. Draven, the Lawson Group and the Brown family from Clearwater City have merged. We’re now Radiance United Group.”

There was no other choice. Their side had deep pockets, and teaming up really was the best shot for Lu Group

to grow.

Ophelia just nodded, her tone flat. “Let’s sit down and start the meeting.”

‘No wonder Mr. Lawson suddenly wanted to talk about taking things further. Turns out, that’s the reason,’ Ophelia thought.

Ophelia couldn’t care less about Lawson Group’s development plans. As for today’s meeting about expanding the partnership, it all comes down to how genuine they are about working together.

In business, there’s always room for negotiation.

Once they were seated, Ophelia nodded politely at George Brown. “Mr. Brown, let’s cut to the chase and get straight to the project.”

George Brown’s gentle smile faltered for a moment, a flicker of disappointment crossing his face.

But when he met Ophelia’s clear eyes, he could only go with the flow “Alright, Ms. Draven, let’s get started.”
