Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 295

Chapter 295

Chapter 295

“Hmph, thought you could keep it from me? Too bad, I caught you!” Ella lifted her chin with a proud little smirk and swaggered off, looking totally pleased with herself.

Inside the office.

Ophelia had already wriggled free from Alaric, glaring at him with gritted teeth. “Nice going! This is all your fault!”

“I really didn’t mean to,” Alaric said softly, trying to calm her down, but the amusement in his eyes only deepened.

He was just worried about her, and just wanted to hold her close without thinking.

He never saw Ella coming in right then.

But honestly, he wouldn’t mind if the whole world found out about them.

“Does it even matter if you did it on purpose or not?” Ophelia shot him a resentful look, her voice thick with frustration. “Seriously, keep it professional. We’re not even engaged, so don’t try anything funny with me.” He suddenly hugged her out of nowhere, and of course, Ella just had to walk in and catch the whole thing.

Ophelia felt like there was a lump stuck in her chest. She was so annoyed she could scream.

Seeing her all puffed up like an angry little hamster, Alaric’s eyes sparkled with affection. He curled his lips into a sly grin and teased, “Even if we’re not engaged, I’m basically your guy now. Shouldn’t I get some special privileges?”

“What do you mean, ‘my guy’?” Ophelia’s face turned even darker as she shot him a sharp look. “There’s nothing between us.”

“Says who?” Alaric glanced down at her, stubborn as ever. “You snuck a kiss, and you used that whole treatment excuse to check me out while I was changing. You’ve gotta take responsibility for that.”

“Shut up!” Ophelia blurted out, anxiously stepped forward and slapped her hand over his mouth.

This guy was totally twisting the truth and making stuff up.

But Alaric didn’t even try to dodge. He just stretched out his arms and pulled her into his embrace, gazing down at her with a playful smile.

Now they were even closer. Ophelia’s pale hand covered his mouth, and his breath tickled her palm, sending a warm rush through her.

She instinctively let go, her cheeks instantly turning pink.

“Ophelia, you’re literally throwing yourself into my arms now. No way you can talk your way out of this,” Alaric said with a devilish grin, leaning in so close that his warm breath tickled her ear.

Her ears, already flushed red, suddenly tingled as a shiver ran down her spine.

“Alaric…” Ophelia tried to protest, but before she could get another word out, his lips captured hers, swallowing up everything she wanted to say.

She tried to break free, but Alaric held her tight, one arm locked around her waist, the other cradling the back of her head, making escape impossible. His kiss grew even more intense, completely dominating her.

Ophelia’s mind went completely blank, all her thoughts melting away into nothing.

Suddenly, the shrill ring of the phone jerked both of them back to their senses.

Ophelia came to her senses, quickly shoving Alaric away and stumbling back a few steps, her heart racing in panic.

She shot Alaric a reproachful glare, but the phone kept ringing, making the whole office feel awkward and heavy.

The office was so quiet it was almost suffocating, yet somehow felt unbearably loud.

Especially for Ophelia, she could hear her own heartbeat thundering in her ears, wild and chaotic.

After a brief silence, Ophelia finally answered the phone.
