Chapter 312
Chapter 312
Ophelia let out a cold laugh. “Typical. The Vossen family is as selfish and ruthless as ever.”
It was clear now. Cameron Vossen hated her so much, he wouldn’t mind seeing her dead.
“Where is he?” Alaric’s voice was icy enough to freeze the whole room, his presence radiating pure menace.
“Once we had proof, we sent people after him, but he must’ve caught wind of it and bolted. We’ve got teams searching, but no word yet if he’s been caught,” Oliver said, his eyes growing even colder.
Still no updates, so I guess he’s still out there.
“He probably realized his plan had failed and knew we’d come for him sooner or later. So he must’ve had an escape plan ready. Catching him now won’t be easy,” Ophelia said after thinking it over.
He got out just in time, which meant Cameron was definitely watching every move we made.
With both her and Alaric in the hospital, Cameron would’ve known she was safe. It was only natural he’d bolt.
Alaric’s eyes flashed with menace as he growled, “No matter where he runs, there’s no way I’ll let him get away.”
Even if it meant having people chase him day and night, he wasn’t going to stop until Cameron was caught.
“Yeah, we can’t let him get away,” Ophelia said, her gaze steely. She stood, grabbed her laptop, and got to work, fingers flying over the keys.
Oliver watched her work, his eyes briefly narrowing as understanding dawned on him.
‘So Ophelia’s a total tech genius. Damn, she’s good,’ he thought.
Alaric looked completely calm. He’d suspected Ophelia was a hacker for a while now. He’d tested her before, but she never admitted it. Still, he was sure she was the one behind it all.
Soon, Ophelia let out a long breath, her eyes glued to the screen. “Looks like he’s holed up in the mountains.”
“The mountains?” Oliver frowned. “He can’t hide there forever.”
Hiding out in the mountains is just a temporary fix. It’s only buying him some time,
“He’s probably trying to slip across the border. We need to nab him fast,” Alaric said, his eyes dark. “If he gets away now, it’ll be a real pain to catch him later.”
Right now, all he cared about was catching Cameron as soon as possible. He wasn’t going to let him walk free.
“Send me the location,” Alaric told Ophelia, then whipped out his phone and started dialing. “Ryan, get your guys ready. I’m sending you the address now.”
At the same time, Oliver raised his phone, his voice icy and commanding. “Recall everyone and focus all our forces on the mountains. We need to find him as fast as possible.”
After giving their orders, the hospital room fell silent for a moment.
Ophelia quietly put her phone away. Since both Oliver and Alaric had already sent their people, she figured her own team could stand down. The people they’d sent should be enough to get the job done.
“He must’ve been cornered this afternoon and took a gamble by running into the mountains, but he doesn’t know the terrain at all. It won’t be easy for him to find a way across the border. With so many people searching, we should have him
soon.”
Ophelia said, her voice cold and determined. “We’re not letting him slip away.”
