Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 322

Chapter 322

Chapter 322

George was genuinely taken aback. This was so not the Alaric he knew.

‘A ruthless, decisive business tycoon, stooping to these little games?’ George couldn’t help but feel a little thrown.

While George was lost in thought, Ophelia and Alaric had already slipped out of the restaurant.

Watching them leave, George’s expression went completely cold.

He’d really underestimated Alaric. He always thought the guy was just a ruthless business shark, but seeing him pull stunts like this? It totally blew George’s mind.

“Mr. Brown, they’ve gone back to the hospital,” his assistant murmured as he approached.

George tore his gaze away, reining in his icy demeanor as he said in a low voice, “Let’s go.”

Stepping out of the restaurant, George shot a look toward the hospital, a frosty glint flickering in his shadowed eyes.

Meanwhile, back in the hospital room.

Ophelia was already supporting Alaric as they returned to his hospital room.

“Sit down and let me examine you,” Ophelia said, her face set in a scowl and her tone clipped.

She’d been grumbling the whole way back, all worked up inside.

His condition might be stable, but he still needed proper rest. Yet he just kept acting like his health didn’t matter at all. The more Ophelia thought about it, the more pissed off she got. ‘Seriously, does he even care if he gets better?’ she fumed.

Noticing how pissed she was, Alaric sat down obediently, careful not to do anything that might set her off again.

It was clear Ophelia was genuinely worried about him this time. He’d better not push her too far.

Alaric sat there obediently while Ophelia checked him over, speaking in a low voice. “Pretty sure it’s not torn, just feels a little sore from being pulled.”

It did hurt a bit, but honestly, he could handle it.

But seeing her with another guy just pissed him off, so he made up an excuse just to get her away from that guy and back by his side.

Ophelia rolled her eyes at him, her tone full of mockery. “Wow, Mr. Caldwell actually knows what pain is? Here I was thinking you were invincible or something, like pain doesn’t even register for you.”

Alaric arched his brow at her sarcasm, looking like he was actually pissed off for once.

“Ophelia, honestly, my heart hurts way more than my wound ever could,” Alaric said, reaching out to hold her hand, his voice full of pitiful longing. “You have no idea. When I saw you with George, it felt like someone stabbed me right in the chest. It really, really hurt.”

Ophelia paused for a moment, then shot him a look of utter annoyance and tapped his forehead. “Are you sure you didn’t hurt your brain? Just sit still and stop talking, okay?”

‘He’s at it again, spouting nonsense. Seriously, he’s impossible,’ she thought, rolling her eyes.

Alaric actually went quiet for once, and as he watched her, a faint smile flickered in his eyes.

‘Looks like she’s not that mad at me anymore, he thought, feeling a bit relieved.

He honestly hadn’t expected her to get so upset just because he left the hospital. Realizing she was worried about him, he couldn’t help but think, so she really does care about me, huh?

He sneaked a peek at Ophelia, only to catch her looking right back at him. Their eyes locked for a moment.

“Are you smiling?” Ophelia narrowed her eyes at him, her gaze carrying a hint of danger.
