Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 325

Chapter 325

Chapter 325

“Yeah, that’s fine,” Ophelia said, clearly satisfied. Now she wouldn’t have to go home and fuss over things.

Once they’d wrapped up everything at work, Ophelia and Ella headed out.

“Boss, I heard there’s a new restaurant that just opened. Can we go check it out?” Ella asked, her eyes full of hope.

“Foodie,” Ophelia said, rolling her eyes with a mix of amusement and exasperation, but she still agreed.

Ella grinned, looking totally satisfied. “Thanks, Boss.”

They got to the restaurant quickly, and Ella couldn’t help but marvel, “Wow, this place is really hopping. No wonder everyone’s talking about it.”

“You booked us a table, right?” Ophelia said calmly, not the least bit worried. She knew Ella always had things covered.

As expected, Ella smirked, chin held high. “Obviously.”

“Come on, let’s head in,” Ophelia said, totally used to Ella’s ways.

But just as they said hi to the hostess and were about to walk in, someone called out, stopping them in their tracks.

“Hold up! We’re all waiting in line. Why do they get to cut in?” someone protested, and instantly, the crowd started to grumble and protest.

The people in line were already getting impatient, and the moment they saw someone trying to jump the queue, they were not having it.

“They have a reservation,” the hostess replied politely.

“Wait, a reservation? I thought you didn’t take reservations here?” someone piped up, sounding genuinely puzzled.

“We do, but only a handful of people with the special VIP black card can make reservations,” the hostess explained. “The owner gave us a heads-up about this.”

That’s why she let Ophelia and Ella in when they confirmed who they were.

“Special VIP black card?” The voice grew louder, and the person stepped out of the line, giving Ophelia a helpless look. “Ophelia, as far as I know, no one in the Rowle family has that card. Is it Mr. Caldwell’s?”

Before Ophelia could say anything, Felicity cut in, “Even if that’s true, I remember you have to be the cardholder to use it. Mr. Caldwell isn’t here, so you can’t just throw your weight around because of his status.”

With just a few words, Felicity made Ophelia look like she was abusing her connections and showing off.

“If you don’t know what’s going on, just zip it. Acting all high and mighty, but you’re the one who’ll end up looking stupid,” Ella shot back at Felicity, her annoyance written all over her face. ‘Seriously, does she ever stop running her mouth?’ Ella thought.

Felicity’s face twisted with anger at being called out in public. “Who asked you? This isn’t your place to speak!” she snapped, clearly pissed.

“I’m the one with the card. Do you have one?” Ella said, holding up her VIP black card for everyone to see, her

chin raised in defiance.

“She actually has it! Who is this girl?” The crowd erupted in shock, whispering and staring at Ella. Nobody could believe this young girl just whipped out one of the only five VIP black cards in all of Dunhollow.

“She’s gotta be someone important,” someone muttered, and the rest of the crowd fell silent, finally convinced by the card in Ella’s hand.

Felicity stared at the card in Ella’s hand, her face a whole mess of emotions, shock, envy, and disbelief all at

once.

“How… how do you even have that?” Felicity stammered, totally losing her composure. ‘Even the Rowle family never got one of those! How is this possible?’ she thought, her jealousy barely hidden.

“Felicity, you just mentioned Mr. Caldwell. Maybe he gave it to her?” someone in the crowd guessed.

“Yeah, I heard your sister’s been plotting to get close to Mr. Caldwell for ages,” another person added, their voice dripping with gossip.

“Can you all just shut up already?” Ella snapped, her face full of disdain. “You’re just a bunch of narrow-minded people, and you actually think you have the right to judge other people?”

“Take a good look. This is our card, and it’s got our names right on it,” Ella said, rolling her eyes and letting out a cold snort. “You guys don’t know the first thing, but you’re all out here pretending to be big shots. Honestly, it’s embarrassing for you.”

‘Day after day, you’re just a bunch of nobodies, always running your mouths and making up crap about other people, Ella thought, shaking her head in disgust.

Felicity’s brows drew together as she glanced at Ophelia, forcing herself to sound calm. “Ophelia, maybe we were out of line just now. We’re just curious how you managed to get a black card, since even Grandpa Tristan doesn’t have one.”
