Chapter 326
Chapter 326
She was all smiles, chatting like they were close, but every word was laced with suspicion about where Ophelia’s card really came from.
After all, even Tristan Rowle didn’t have one, so how could a student like Ophelia possibly get her hands on it?
“Yeah, true,” Ophelia said, pretending to think it over before nodding in agreement with Felicity, playing along like she was totally on board.
Felicity’s eyes flashed, and she jumped right in, “So where’d you get that card, anyway?”
Ophelia didn’t bother answering her. She just looked at Ella and said, “Ella, get another black card and send it to Grandpa Tristan. He probably won’t use it, but it’s good to give it as a present.”
“Seriously? You think you can just hand out those cards to anyone you want?” Felicity’s friend scoffed, her voice dripping with disdain.
But Ella was already dialing. “Boss wants a black card sent to Tristan Rowle,” she said, cool as ever.
“I’ll get it done right away. And one more thing…” Ella shot Felicity a look and added, “When the card gets delivered, have Tristan Rowle call his granddaughter Felicity to confirm it. She’s still standing in your lobby waiting in line, so everyone knows we’re not just bluffing.”
After hanging up, Ella gave Felicity a cocky tilt of her chin. “Just wait for the call.”
Then, flashing a respectful grin, she turned to Ophelia. “Boss, let’s go in. No point wasting another second on these clueless nobodies.”
“Yeah, let’s go,” Ophelia said, shooting Felicity a cool, superior glance, totally in charge.
Felicity’s face went pale, her heart burning with resentment, but she forced a calm smile and said through gritted teeth, “I guess I really don’t know you that well, Ophelia. I had no idea you had such capable friends.”
Ophelia let out a soft scoff and didn’t bother responding.
‘She just won’t shut up, still talking up even when she’s done for, Ophelia thought, rolling her eyes.
Ella keeps calling her “Boss” every chance she gets, but Felicity still acts like Ophelia’s just leeching off Ella’s
connections.
Who cares? If Felicity wants to keep denying it, let her. Ophelia would show her exactly what real power looks
like.
Watching Ophelia walk off without even glancing back, Felicity felt like she’d just been publicly humiliated by Ophelia’s cold shoulder.
Getting totally ignored like that, Felicity was about ready to blow a fuse.
‘Why am I stuck waiting in line while Ophelia just waltzes right in? I said Grandpa Tristan didn’t have a black card, and she just hands one out like it’s no big deal. Is she trying to humiliate me on purpose?’ Felicity fumed, her jealousy burning inside.
“Felicity, your little sister’s really something, huh?” someone said, their tone thick with sarcasm.
“Yeah, she could’ve just taken you in with her, but instead she ditched you and left you standing here in line,” another person added, clearly annoyed:
Felicity’s face went dark, and she snapped, “If you love brown-nosing her so much, why don’t you go be her friend? She’ll probably let you tag along for dinner, and you won’t have to stand here with the rest of us losers.”
“Felicity, I didn’t mean it like that,” the person stammered, trying to backtrack.
“Yeah, she’s just saying your sister’s so small-minded, doesn’t even respect her own big sis,” someone else chimed in, trying to smooth things over.
Felicity shot them a glare and stormed off, fuming.
‘Why am I even sticking around? Haven’t ! embarrassed myself enough?’ Felicity grumbled to herself.
