Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 332

Chapter 332

Chapter 332

“Uncle Henry, I’m the CEO. I run the whole Rowle Group. If I had to do everything myself, what would I even need a team for?” Oliver replied, a mocking smile tugging at his lips as he looked at Henry.

Henry felt his heart drop to the floor. In that instant, everything finally made sense.

“So you didn’t even do it yourself? Then why did you make it sound like you were taking charge of this project?” Asher exploded, completely losing his cool.

If Oliver hadn’t actually done it, then the proposal they’d managed to get their hands on was nothing but worthless.

No wonder, the moment Oliver’s plan was revealed, theirs looked absolutely laughable.

“I never said that to anyone,” Oliver replied, his tone icy and detached as he casually adjusted his cufflinks.

“Then what about Zoe…” Asher began, but the words caught in his throat as realization hit him.

He wasn’t clueless. He could see now that he’d walked straight into a trap.

Asher’s eyes snapped open in shock. He glanced at Oliver, then quickly looked over at Ophelia.

Ophelia sat there, completely unfazed, a cool and knowing smile playing on her lips as she watched Asher, like she was in total control of the situation.

It couldn’t be clearer. Ophelia’s look said it all: ‘That’s right. You finally caught on. This whole thing was all planned against you from the very beginning!

“Oliver’s proposal really is better than ours. Looks like the winner’s obvious,” Henry said with a sigh, a hint of regret in his voice but no bitterness as he got to his feet. “Congrats, you two.”

He left it at that, never showing whether he was congratulating them for working together or for outsmarting everyone. On the outside, his expression gave nothing away.

Ophelia arched an eyebrow. ‘Figures Henry’s always quicker on the uptake than Asher,’ she mused.

“What do you think, Asher?” Ophelia asked, a sly smile playing on her lips as she looked his way.

Asher felt like his chest was stuffed with cotton, so suffocating and frustrating, but he couldn’t even get the words out.

“Hmph.” With an angry swipe of his arm, Asher shot to his feet and stormed out.

“Asher!” Henry called after him, but Asher ignored him completely, forcing Henry to hurry after.

“That’s it?” Ella, who’d been munching on popcorn and loving the show, blinked, wide-eyed in disbelief.

He just left, without saying a word?

“What else could he do? It’s not like he’d actually dare to hit us,” Ophelia said, a mocking twist to her lips. Ella sighed and shook her head. “He looked so pissed off, I really thought he was about to lose it.” ‘Honestly, I was ready to call the cops if he started any drama, but turns out he totally chickened out,’ Ella thought, a little disappointed.

“He’ll definitely blow up, but it won’t be at me,” Ophelia said, her eyes flashing coldly. ‘Someone else is about to get the brunt of it, she thought.

Ella paused for a moment, then her eyes lit up as she got it. “Oh, right!”

“Looks like someone’s about to have a really bad day,” Ella said, grinning from ear to ear. “Serves them right. You reap what you sow.”

Asher strutted in like he owned the place, but left with his tail between his legs.

After getting burned like that, Zoe’s definitely in for it now.

“Boss, what’s the next move?” Ella asked quietly.

We’ve been setting this up for ages. Looks like it’s finally time to strike the harvest.
