Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 337

Chapter 337

Chapter 337

“Ophelia, that’s not what I meant,” Zoe said, her face pale and her voice trembling. “I just see how amazing you are, and everyone likes you so much. I just wanted to work harder and try to be more like you.”

She was the very picture of a bullied little bunny, so pitiful that anyone who saw her would feel their heart ache for her.

“You’ve had it rough, sweetie,” Claire said, patting Zoe’s shoulder with sympathy. “You’ve always been cherished by everyone, and you’re already amazing. Don’t put so much pressure on yourself.”

“Claire,” Zoe whispered, leaning into Claire’s shoulder, looking so fragile and lost, as if she had pain she couldn’ t even speak out loud.

“So, this is your idea of achievement, just stealing someone else’s work?” Ophelia sneered, exposing her. “It’s fine to want to get ahead, but taking credit for what isn’t yours? That’s crossing the line.”

“Stealing?” Tristan’s face turned cold, his eyes narrowing at Zoe in clear displeasure.

Under his piercing stare, Zoe started to crack, her voice shaky as she rushed to defend herself, “No, Grandpa, I swear I didn’t steal anything! Everything was done by me!”

“Ophelia, maybe my proposal isn’t good enough for you, and I admit I’m not as capable. But you can’t just frame me like this,” Zoe choked out, tears streaming down her face, looking completely devastated.

“Ophelia, how could you say that about Zoe? She’s been working so hard! You’re really picking on her,” Scarlett snapped, shooting Ophelia a furious glare.

“She’s just putting all her effort into stealing from others,” Ophelia said coldly, giving Zoe a frosty look. “Even now, you still refuse to own up to what you’ve done?”

Locking eyes with Ophelia’s dark, unreadable stare, Zoe shrank back, shaking her head miserably.

“Ophelia, I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about. If you think I’m a problem for you in the Rowle family, I can leave. But could you please stop dragging my name through the mud?”

“Drop the act,” Oliver said, his gaze icy with contempt. “Did you really think you could just snag that proposal so easily?”

If he hadn’t deliberately handed her that opportunity, did she honestly believe she could’ve pulled it off?

“Oliver, what are you saying?” Zoe staggered back, her heart racing with panic.

‘Wait… was that slip-up I noticed that day actually something Oliver set up for me?’ Zoe thought, a chill running down her spine.

A cold realization washed over her, and Zoe swallowed hard as the truth hit her all at once.

“What Oliver meant was that everything Ophelia said is true, and I’ve got solid proof,” Oliver said, his voice cold and steady. Then he shot a mocking glance at Asher and Henry. “I’ve been watching your every move.”

What he was really saying was, ‘This whole thing was a setup, and you two just blundered right into it like total idiots.’

Asher’s face went dark, his jaw clenched tight. “What the hell are you talking about?”

This was a slap in the face, straight-up humiliation.

He’d thought he was the mastermind, but turns out he was the clown.

“Oliver, are you saying Zoe was working with them?” Adrian’s face fell, looking genuinely hurt and shaken.

Even though Oliver was running the company now, Adrian had been in charge before. There was no way he didn’t know exactly what was going on.

“Dad, I figured you wouldn’t be surprised,” Oliver said, his voice icy cold.

After all, those two uncles had been up to all kinds of shady business for years, even hurting the company’s

interests.
