Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 343

Chapter 343

Chapter 343

Zoe had lost completely, and all she could do now was admit defeat and accept the consequences.

Nothing broke her heart harder than Alaric’s words that he didn’t want her.

All her careful plotting, what did it matter in the end? All she got was Alaric telling her he never loved her.

“Zoe, you…” Victoria gritted her teeth, tears welling up in her eyes.

She had raised Zoe herself. Even if Zoe wasn’t her own daughter, she was still her niece, her own flesh and

blood.

Victoria just couldn’t wrap her head around how Zoe, who used to be so sweet and sensible, could end up like this.

“Mom, she made her own choices. She has no one to blame but herself,” Ophelia said, her gaze icy. After seeing Zoe for who she really was, Ophelia no longer held out any hope for her.

She’d even given Zoe a chance to make amends, but Zoe stubbornly refused to change.

At the end of the day, she has to bear the consequences herself.

“Mom… Aunt Victoria,” Zoe said, her voice steady as she caught herself. “I admit everything I’ve done. Go ahead and call the police, and I won’t try to dodge it this time.”

She was done fighting. Her whole life had been nothing but a cruel joke anyway.

“Zoe,” Victoria said, her eyes red with tears, her heart aching and helpless.

“I’m not calling the police,” Ophelia replied, her gaze cold and distant, looking at Zoe like she was nothing more than a stranger.

Zoe’s face turned pale, her voice thick with resentment and humiliation. “I’ve lost everything. What more do you want from me?”

Wasn’t it enough that they crushed her heart? What else did they want?

“I’ve already made the arrangements. I’m sending you overseas. You’re never setting foot here again,” Oliver said, his voice icy and resolute.

“Oliver?” Victoria looked torn as she glanced at him, but couldn’t find the words.

Her heart ached for Zoe, but there was no denying the wrong she’d done.

“Mom, even though Zoe was involved in what happened before, Chloe wasn’t exactly blameless either. This time, Zoe messed up, but it’s still something for the Rowle family to handle ourselves.

“Oliver and I talked it over. Maybe it’s best to send her abroad. After all, she’s the only child Aunt Scarlett left behind.” Ophelia explained, her tone flat and her expression unreadable, like she was just recounting a story about someone she barely knew.

Honestly, the main reason for this decision was that Mom wouldn’t be too devastated.

After all, Mom poured her heart and soul into raising Zoe. Of course this would break her.

Besides, Zoe only managed to succeed because Ophelia and Oliver had nudged her along. Zoe could never have pulled it off by herself.

Zoe was foolish, and they used her too, so Ophelia didn’t really hold a grudge. If anything, she should probably thank Zoe for being so clueless when it came to dealing with Adrian.

“I’ve taken care of everything. The flight’s in two hours, so if we leave now, we’ll be right on time,” Oliver said. As soon as he finished, Samuel stepped in, bowing respectfully. “Oliver, Zoe’s bags are packed and ready. We can head out whenever you’re ready.”

“You…” Zoe’s face went pale as a sheet, and tears burst from her eyes before she could stop them.

‘God, how stupid was I?’ Zoe thought, bitterly. ‘I thought I had it all figured out, thought I could wait and win in the end, but I was just a plaything in their game.
