Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 345

Chapter 345

Chapter 345

“That’s what real care looks like,” Tristan said with a pleased smile.

It was obvious Alaric was willing, but since Ophelia was hesitant, he just let her take the lead.

“No rush. Let Ophelia decide for herself,” Victoria said, looking downcast, but she still voiced her opinion for Ophelia.

“Yeah, no rush,” Oliver said, his eyes darkening. Ophelia’s still young. No need to push her into getting married

so soon.

After that, Oliver turned to Tristan, his voice cold and heavy. “Grandpa, Zoe was at fault with the proposal, but she couldn’t have pulled it off alone. I’ve already sent her abroad, so what about the others?”

He didn’t say it outright, but everyone knew what he meant.

“Mm,” Tristan grunted, his gaze shifting to Asher.

Asher’s heart skipped a beat, and he blurted out, “Dad, I… I was tricked by Zoe too.”

“Asher, there’s no point in arguing about this now,” Oliver said, his face cold and unmoved. “After all, you say you didn’t, but I can just as easily say you did.”

What he meant was, now that Zoe was gone, it was just their word against each other, no way to prove who was telling the truth.

Asher narrowed his eyes, gritting his teeth. “You really are scheming. I really underestimated you.”

No wonder all those years of trying to mess with the family business behind the scenes never worked out. Oliver’s definitely not someone you can take lightly.

“You flatter me, Asher,” Oliver said, nodding politely, which only made Asher so furious he nearly spat blood.

“Hmph, I’m not leaving the country. I just got back. What makes you think you can just order me around?” Asher said, sounding shameless and defiant.

“Suit yourself, stay if you want,” Oliver replied, surprisingly agreeable.

Asher eyed Oliver warily. “Seriously?”

‘Oliver’s never this easy to deal with, Asher thought, suspicion rising. ‘He must be up to something.’

“Yeah,” Oliver nodded, his eyes calm. “Then let’s have you step down from all your positions in the company.”

“What gives you the right to make me step down?” Asher roared, his anger boiling over.

Oliver’s gaze stayed cool. “You came back to be with Grandpa, right? I think you should just stick around the old house and make sure he’s taken care of.”

“Alright, that’s settled,” Tristan said, cutting Asher off before he could say another word.

“Dad!” Asher’s eyes were bloodshot, his rage twisting his features into something almost feral.

‘Why should I be the one?’ Asher fumed to himself.

‘Everyone messed up, so why am I the only one getting punished?’

Tristan raised an eyebrow and shot Asher a dismissive look. “What, you didn’t come back to see me?”

“I…” Asher choked, his expression flickering with uncertainty.

Tristan’s warning look said it all. If Asher kept pushing, he knew he couldn’t afford the fallout.

‘Am I really just supposed to roll over and take this?’ Asher thought, frustration boiling inside him.

‘Hell no, I can’t accept this!’ he cursed to himself.

“Asher, since Dad wants you around, just stay at the old house,” Henry said quietly. He shot Asher a look and nudged him, lowering his voice, “It’s already come to this. Let’s play it smart.”

Asher hesitated for a moment, then finally gritted his teeth and nodded.
