Chapter 364
Chapter 364
“I’m Bianca Rowle,” Bianca introduced herself, then turned to Alaric with a smile. “I haven’t had breakfast yet either. Mind if I join you two?”
“I only bought two,” Alaric said, his tone icy. “Maybe you should get your own, Ms. Rowle.”
With that, Alaric reached for Ophelia’s hand, planning to walk in with her.
But Ophelia sidestepped him, grabbed one of the breakfast bags, and said, “I’ve got to get to my office, so I won’t go up with you guys.”
She turned to Bianca with a smile. “Bianca, I’ll let you get back to work. I’ll head out first.”
Ophelia headed off to the parking lot with her breakfast, and Alaric couldn’t take his eyes off her. Bianca kept a close watch on Alaric, noticing every little change in his expression, her own eyes growing a shade colder as she saw where his attention really was.
“Ms. Rowle, would you like to have breakfast first, or should we get down to business?” Ryan cut in, his tone polite and professional.
Bianca’s face darkened for a moment, but she kept her composure and gave a small nod. “Let’s talk business first.”
She looked at Alaric with a hopeful glint in her eyes.. “Alaric, aren’t you coming inside?”
Alaric gave her a frosty, dismissive glance. “Ms. Rowle, I’d prefer you call me Mr. Caldwell.”
With that, he turned and strode into the company, not sparing Bianca another glance.
Being left hanging like that, Bianca’s face turned a shade paler, and for a moment, it felt like someone had jabbed a needle straight into her heart.
“Ms. Rowle?” Ryan called out again. Bianca finally lifted her head, forcing a polite nod. “Let’s head in.”
“Alright,” Ryan said, leading Bianca into the building. As they walked, he asked, “So, Ms. Rowle, what kind of work did you want to talk about?”
“I heard your new product’s spokesperson ran into some issues, and you’re scrambling to find someone suitable. I just got back from abroad and will be staying here for a while.
“Since I heard Alaric could use some help, I thought I’d swing by and see if I might be a good fit,” Bianca said, her tone friendly and confident.
Ryan’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, his voice rising a little. “Ms. Rowle, you want to be our spokesperson?”
“Yeah,” Bianca replied with a bright smile, her eyes unconsciously following Alaric up ahead.
But seeing that Alaric didn’t even pause for her, a pang of disappointment hit her, and she bit her lip in frustration.
Ryan hesitated for a second, then asked tentatively, “Ms. Rowle, don’t you need to talk it over with your agent before agreeing to be our spokesperson?”
‘Why did she come alone? Even if we sort things out now, what if something pops up later?’ Ryan thought to himself.
“I just wanted to help out personally, so I figured I’d check with Alaric first. Once he gives the green light, I’ll get my agent involved,” Bianca explained.
“I see,” Ryan said, nodding slightly as he led Bianca into the meeting room. “Ms. Rowle, please have a seat. I’ll get the PR and planning directors to meet with you. As for Mr. Caldwell, I’ll go check with him right now.”
