Chapter 368
Chapter 368
But right after, Bianca shot Daphne a pointed glare. ‘Seriously, when did you get so timid?’ she thought, annoyed.
Daphne felt all kinds of frustrated, but she kept her mouth shut. After all the times Ophelia had put her in her place, she was just over it now.
“Ophelia, don’t take it personally. Bianca and Daphne didn’t mean anything bad. If you’re still upset, why not whip up some of that medicinal tea you mentioned for Bianca? What do you think?” Scarlett said, sounding a bit impatient as she tried to
keep peace.
It was like she thought Ophelia was just acting like she’s the expert, and since they weren’t playing along, she was just making trouble for them on purpose.
“Scarlett, you’re really overthinking this,” Ophelia replied, raising an eyebrow with a touch of arrogance. “I was just reminding Bianca to look after her health. If she’s actually feeling sick, she should go to the hospital. My medicinal tea isn’t something I make for just anyone.”
‘Like I’d waste my skills on you lot, Ophelia thought.
Scarlett’s smug expression froze on her face, not even having time to fade.
‘What’s that supposed to mean?’ Scarlett wondered, feeling thrown off.
‘Is Ophelia calling us delusional? Or does she think we’re not even good enough for her special tea?’ Scarlett fumed inwardly, a mix of irritation and disbelief swirling inside her.
Bianca sighed quietly, but managed a polite smile. “Thanks for your concern, Ophelia, but I really don’t feel unwell.”
“Glad to hear it,” Ophelia replied, her lips curling with a hint of mockery as she took in the looks on their faces.
‘If they want to play games behind my back, then none of them are getting off easy either, Ophelia thought coldly.
“Ophelia, don’t let them bother you,” Tristan said, his eyes full of concern. “You look a little tired. Haven’t been sleeping well lately? Is taking care of Alaric at the hospital wearing you out?”
“It’s really not that bad, and I’ve been resting just fine,” Ophelia reassured Tristan with a gentle smile.
But suddenly, she remembered how she’d been sleeping in the same hospital bed as Alaric lately, and her cheeks went pink with embarrassment.
Of course, to everyone else, it probably just looked like she was being all shy and cute.
“So, Ophelia, you’ve been at the hospital with Alaric all this time?” Bianca asked, trying to sound casual, though she was secretly clenching her teeth in frustration.
After what happened this morning, she’d already looked into everything going on between Alaric and Ophelia.
She knew Alaric had gotten hurt saving Ophelia, and Ophelia had been sticking close to him at the hospital ever since.
Bianca was seething with jealousy and anger. ‘If only I’d come back sooner, maybe I could’ve been the one taking care of Alaric. Maybe I could’ve confessed my feelings and we’d be together by now, she thought, bitterly.
But she was too late. Ophelia had slipped in and seized the opportunity.
