Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 372

Chapter 372

Chapter 372

Ophelia stepped out of the car with Ella, and they barely had time to steady themselves before someone called out,” Ophelia, you guys made it too!”

Both of them turned to look. Sure enough, it was George, his voice unmistakable.

“Didn’t you say you were going to Clearwater City today? How come you’re here?” Ophelia asked, sounding a little curious. Honestly, she hadn’t expected to bump into him here.

“Handled everything and came back,” George said, acting casual. “Since it’s such a big event, I figured I shouldn’t miss it.” George looked at Ophelia and asked, “Ready to go in?”

“Yeah, we were just about to,” Ophelia said, then led Ella inside.

George held out his arm, but Ophelia just brushed past him, leaving him to sigh inwardly.

He’d wanted to walk in with her so people would think they came together, but she clearly didn’t have that in mind.

Left with no choice, George hurried to catch up and ended up walking right beside Ophelia.

“Ms. Draven, Mr. Brown!” someone greeted them warmly, throwing in a compliment. “Heard you two are working together, talk about a dream team! Everyone wishes they could get in on that.”

Ophelia smiled lightly, chatting with the group. “It’s just that the project was a good match. If any of you have something that fits, we’re always open to teaming up.”

“Hope we get the chance someday,” someone said eagerly.

“Yeah, that’d be awesome,” another person laughed.

George stayed close to Ophelia, playing the part of her silent protector, barely saying a word but never taking his eyes off her, like she was the only person who could hold his attention.

People nearby started whispering and gossiping, curious about what kind of relationship the two of them really had.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out at the entrance, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.

As soon as people saw who walked in, the vibe in the room changed, getting a little awkward.

“Wait, isn’t Mr. Caldwell supposed to be in the hospital? How come he’s here?” someone whispered.

“And isn’t that the famous actress, Bianca, with him?” another person chimed in.

Seeing Alaric and Bianca walk in together, Ophelia’s face fell a little, and she felt a weird pang inside for no reason.

‘He told me to go home and rest, and now he’s out partying?’ Ophelia grumbled inwardly, feeling a bit ticked off.

Alaric had been searching for Ophelia from the moment he walked in, and spotted her almost instantly. He started making his way over, but when he caught sight of her unhappy expression, his brows knit together in concern.

‘If she really hates these kinds of parties, she doesn’t have to come at all. Why put herself through this?’ Alaric couldn’t help but feel a little frustrated.

Something about it just bugged him. Alaric stepped up to Ophelia, lowering his gaze to meet hers. “Ophelia, you don’t seem happy. Should we head out?”

“Mr. Caldwell, Ophelia was actually having a great time before you showed up. We were just talking business. If you really care about her, maybe you should give her some space, or just head out yourself,” George said, his voice icy and protective.

‘He just walked in and already wants to whisk her away? Like hell I’m letting that happen, George thought, shooting Alaric a cold glare.
