Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 387

Chapter 387

“It’s just a shame we don’t have any solid proof. She might really get off scot-free,” Ella Prescott said with a heavy sigh. “I never thought she could be so calculating.”

‘She actually managed to walk away without a scratch after pulling something like that, Ella thought, still unable to wrap her head around it.

“Not surprised at all,” Ophelia Rowle snorted coldly, her gaze icy Ever since she came back, she’s been out to get me, and she actually thinks she’s got everyone fooled.”

“Why though?” Ella asked, still confused. “You two never even crossed paths before.”

Ophelia’s eyes darkened with a hint of sarcasm. “Take a wild guess why she went straight to the Caldwell Group as soon as she got back to Dunhollow. She probably thinks I’m standing in her way.”

Ella’s eyes went wide in surprise. “Wait, she’s crushing on Mr. Caldwell? No way!”

“But I’ve never seen them interact at all,” Ella said, still in disbelief. ‘Seriously, who would’ve thought she’d set her sights on Alaric?’ she thought.

“The Rowle and Caldwell families have been close for generations. They’ve known each other since they were kids. Even if they haven’t interacted much, that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be interested in Alaric.”

Ophelia said. After all, Alaric really was the total package, handsome, wealthy, and powerful. In Dunhollow, he was the guy every heiress dreamed of.

“Oh, right, we’re talking about Alaric here,” Ella said, shrugging in agreement.

‘Honestly, who in Dunhollow could actually resist Alaric?’ Ella thought.

“Boss, so what do you think?” Ella asked, arching her brow in a teasing, probing way.

“Huh? What are you talking about?” Ophelia blinked, genuinely baffled. ‘What’s this got to do with me?’ she wondered.

“Hey, it’s not just that she’s into Mr. Caldwell. She’s already making moves. Aren’t you going to do something about it? Would it really break your heart if you lost him?” Ella frowned, concern clear in her voice.

Ophelia lifted her chin, pride flashing in her eyes. “Who cares about losing or not losing him? This isn’t about revenge. I’m just making sure she pays for what she did.”

Ella snickered, her voice dripping with mischief. “Just admit it, Boss, you’ve totally got a thing for Mr. Caldwell.”

Even if Ophelia hadn’t cared before, Ella could totally see her feelings had shifted these days.

Ophelia couldn’t help but shoot Ella a stern look, feigning seriousness. “Enough with the gossip. Get back to what you’re supposed to be doing.”

“Alright, Boss,” Ella replied, barely suppressing her laughter. “Just say the word.”

“Attention! About face! March!” Ophelia ordered. Ella played along, spun on her heel, and quickly left the office.

Once the office was quiet again, Ophelia rubbed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.

‘Is Ella even paying attention to the real issue here?’ Ophelia thought.

Whatever was going on between Bianca and Alaric was their business. They could sort it out themselves.

All Ophelia cared about was that Bianca was coming after her, and using such dirty tricks to do it.

Leaning back in her chair, Ophelia’s gaze turned dark, her presence growing even colder and sharper.

“No evidence, huh?” A cold smirk played at her lips as she said coolly, “Guess I’ll just take a little payback first.”

She reached for her phone and called Oliver.

“Oliver,” Ophelia said as soon as the call connected, cutting straight to the chase. “Are there any openings at Rowle Group’s entertainment company right now?”

“Why do you ask?” Oliver sounded puzzled.

“Just curious,” Ophelia replied, keeping it vague. “If there is, would it be a problem if I just dropped in?”

“Not at all,” Oliver replied calmly. “We actually need a new director of talent management. I’ll set it up. You can start whenever you want.”

“Awesome,” Ophelia replied, her voice bright. “1 Successfully unlocked!
