Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 388

Chapter 388

‘Does Bianca really think she can scheme behind my back and I just sit here powerless?’ Ophelia thought, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

Meanwhile, at Caldwell Group.

Alaric was hunched over his desk, lost in paperwork.

Ryan Brooks poked his head in, voice barely above a whisper: “Mr. Caldwell, Ms. Rowle is here.”

“Ophelia’s here!” Alaric’s eyes lit up with excitement. ‘She hasn’t even texted me in three days. Is she really that busy she can’t even spare a minute for me?’ he wondered.

Ryan’s expression stiffened for a second before he said, “It’s Ms. Bianca Rowle.”

Alaric’s face instantly went cold, his voice flat and indifferent. “What does she want?”

“Uh…” Ryan swallowed hard, steeling himself. “She said Tristan Rowle asked her to bring some things for you.”

Alaric’s expression briefly shuttered, and after a moment of silence, he said, “Let her in.”

“Yes, sir,” Ryan replied, turning to leave. Soon after, he returned, leading Bianca into the office.

“Alaric,” Bianca called out in a soft voice as she made her way over to his desk.

Alaric looked up, his eyes icy and detached, sending a shiver straight down Bianca’s spine.

Her face went pale in an instant, and she caught herself and stammered, “M-Mr. Caldwell, I’m just here to drop off something from my grandfather.”

“What is it?” Alaric’s gaze was frosty, making it clear he wanted her to cut to the chase and not waste his time.

A bitter pang twisted in Bianca’s chest, leaving her feeling hollow inside.

Still, after finally getting a chance to see Alaric, Bianca forced herself to stay composed and keep up her graceful front.

“So, my grandfather recently got two batches of premium new tea and thought Mr. Zachary Caldwell might like to try them. Since he’s not feeling well lately, I offered to bring them over myself.”

“For my grandfather?” Alaric’s eyes grew even colder. ‘Why not just have it delivered to the hospital directly?’ he thought, unimpressed.

“Yes, for Mr. Zachary Caldwell,” Bianca replied, flashing a gentle, probing smile. “I was going to bring it over myself, but I was worried about disturbing him while he’s resting. So I came to you, hoping maybe you could come with me.”

The truth was, if she went alone, she’d probably just drop off the tea and get sent away, no chance to actually talk with Zachary. If she couldn’t spend more time with him, how could she let him notice her and get to know her better?

More importantly, if she could show up with Alaric, her status in Zachary’s eyes would be totally different.

“No need,” Alaric said coolly, accepting the tea. “I’ll handle things with my grandfather myself. Just let your grandfather

know my thanks.”

“But…” Bianca was caught off guard, her heart sinking. ‘I worked so hard for this chance, she thought, unwilling to let it slip

away.

“Anything else?” Alaric raised an eyebrow, his eyes sharp and unyielding, making it clear he wasn’t about to entertain any more of her requests.

Bianca bit back her frustration and managed to reply, “N-no, that’s all.”

‘Why won’t Alaric even look at me?’ Bianca wondered, the rejection stinging more than she’d expected.
