Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 391

Chapter 391

“She can do it. Let her have a shot,” Alaric jumped in for Ophelia before anyone else could.

“Mr. Caldwell, this is about my dad’s health. We really can’t be too careful,” Asher said, his brows furrowed in clear disapproval.

He knew Ophelia knew a thing or two about medicine, but when it came to his dad, he really didn’t want her getting involved.

His old man already doted on Ophelia so much. If she got another chance to show off how much she cared, what about the rest of them?

Alaric’s aura turned icy, his tone commanding. “Ophelia saved my grandpa and Mr. Blackwell. If Mr. Rowle’s condition is really bad, she’s the only one who can save him.”

“What did you just say?” Everyone was stunned, and the room went eerily quiet.

Alaric didn’t even look at anyone else. He fixed his gaze on Adrian and said firmly, “Uncle, Ophelia can do it.”

Adrian was still in shock, barely able to process what was happening. He just nodded absentmindedly. “Yeah.”

“But…” Asher’s brows were still furrowed, looking like he still wanted to say no.

Ophelia lowered her gaze, studying him. ‘Is Asher… actually nervous?’ she thought.

“Uncle, but what?” Ophelia raised an eyebrow, shooting him a sideways glance, her gaze sharp and questioning.

“What your uncle means is, the doctors and Miles are already handling it. Maybe we should just wait a bit. If you suddenly go in, you might throw off their rhythm and end up making things worse,” Scarlett said with an awkward smile.

“Let her go check it out,” an icy, authoritative voice rang out.

Everyone turned to see Oliver striding over.

He was still shocked to hear Ophelia had treated Alaric’s grandpa and Mr. Blackwell, but for some reason, he couldn’t explain it. He just had this gut feeling she could pull it off.

“Oliver, don’t be reckless when it comes to your grandpa’s health Asher instinctively objected, his tone firm and clearly disapproving.

“Asher and Scarlett already said the doctors and Miles are inside. Ophelia going in to check things out won’t hurt,” Oliver replied, his gaze steely. Then he turned to Ophelia, his tone gentler, “Go on, take a look.”

“Alright,” Ophelia nodded and headed for Mr. Rowle’s room.

“This…” Asher was feeling pretty annoyed, but all he could do was stand there and watch.

Scarlett tugged at Asher’s sleeve and whispered, “Just let her go. With Miles’s temper, she might get thrown out anyway.”

“True,” Asher realized, remembering how Miles absolutely hated being disturbed while he was working.

If Ophelia barged in like that, Miles would definitely lose his coo

Honestly, he might just kick her out.

Asher finally seemed to relax a little and went quiet.

Oliver gave Asher a look, then turned to the others and said in a cool voice, “Let’s just sit down and wait.”

Only then did everyone realize they’d been so shocked, they hadn’t even noticed when they’d stood up.

After they sat down, Asher kept glancing upstairs, unable to hide his worry.

Oliver’s voice was cold and authoritative. “Asher, don’t be anxious. Grandpa’s always been healthy. He should wake up soon.”

“I’m just worried,” Asher muttered, rubbing his nose awkwardly, concern written all over his face. “He was perfectly fine, so how could he just fall unconscious after a nap?”
