Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 401

Chapter 401

But to her surprise, Alaric just shot her a cool glance and said indifferently, “If you’re so worried about Mr. Rowle, you should go see him first. I’ll have breakfast before I head up.”

“You haven’t had breakfast either?” Bianca’s heart tightened, a sense of dread creeping in.

“Yeah, I spent the whole night at Ophelia’s place, and we came over together this morning,” Alaric replied, then headed straight for the dining room.

Bianca stood there, frozen in place, like she’d been turned to stone.

‘Did he just say that?’ Bianca thought, her mind reeling.

‘He spent the whole night at Ophelia’s place!’

‘What did they talk about? What did they do? Have they really gotten that close already?’

Her gaze slowly drifted toward the dining room, where Alaric and Ophelia looked so sweet together. It felt like a knife was twisting in her chest, the pain almost unbearable.

Bianca bit down hard on her lip, forcing herself not to lose control.

Taking a deep breath, she turned and headed for the stairs. As she passed by a maid, she shot her a look before slowly making her way upstairs.

The maid stepped into the dining room and asked politely, “Ophelia, Mr. Caldwell, would you like some coffee?”

“Sure,” Ophelia said, feeling a bit worn out and thinking some caffeine might help.

“Right away,” the maid replied, quickly bringing over two cups and handing them out.

She set Ophelia’s cup down first, but when she went to give Alaric his, her hand shook and she accidentally spilled coffee all over him.

“I’m so sorry, Mr. Caldwell, I didn’t mean to!” the maid blurted out her face turning pale. “Let me clean that up for you.”

She grabbed some napkins, trying to wipe the coffee off his clothes.

Alaric frowned, clearly irritated. “Move aside,” he said coldly.

“Y-yes, sir…” the maid mumbled, ducking her head and backing away, looking like she wished she could disappear.

Ophelia narrowed her eyes at the maid and asked, “Why are you so careless?”

“I swear I didn’t mean it, Ophelia. I’m really sorry,” the maid apologized nervously, her voice barely above a whisper, afraid she’d get chewed out.

Ophelia sighed quietly, then turned to Alaric. “That won’t come out. Go change. Let them send this to be cleaned.”

“Fine,” Alaric replied, tossing the napkin aside and getting up.

Ophelia gave the maid a look and instructed, “Take Mr. Caldwell to Oliver’s room and grab him a fresh set of clothes.”

Even though they didn’t stay here often, everyone had their own room, and each was stocked with clothes and supplies.

Oliver and Alaric were about the same size, so his clothes should work in a pinch.

“Yes, right away,” the maid said, then led Alaric upstairs.

Ophelia glanced at the untouched breakfast, suddenly not feeling hungry at all. She finished her coffee and headed upstairs too.

“Knock, knock, knock.”

Ophelia knocked on her grandfather’s door.

“Come in,” Miles called from inside. Ophelia opened the door and stepped in.

“Ophelia, you’re here,” Miles said, his usual cold expression softening a bit when he saw her.

“Miles,” Ophelia replied, her eyes sweeping over the room.

She noticed Asher and Scarlett were both there, and her brow twitched almost imperceptibly.

‘Where’s Bianca? Didn’t she say she was coming to see Grandpa?’ Ophelia wondered.

“Asher, Scarlett, you’re both here,” Ophelia said Successfully unlocked!ession. “How’s Grandpa doing? Is there any

sign he might wake up?”

“Not yet,” Asher sighed, shaking his head.

“Ophelia, we were just talking about sending Grandpa overseas for treatment. Maybe some top specialists can help him out. He can’t just stay in a coma forever,” Scarlett said, her face full of worry.

“So that’s what you’re thinking?” Ophelia glanced at Miles, finally understanding the reason behind his earlier frustration.

“Asher, these doctors have international reputations, and you were the one who brought them in. So, are you saying you don’t trust them, or do you not trust me and Ophelia?” Miles asked, his tone full of arrogance as he raised an eyebrow.

“It’s not that we don’t trust you,” Scarlett replied, her expression darkening. “But with your grandfather still in a coma, shouldn’t we consider other options? Don’t you want him to wake up as soon as possible?”

“Of course we want Grandpa to wake up,” Ophelia retorted, her gaze sharp as she looked at Scarlett. “But are you really unaware that moving him now could be fatal? Or are you deliberately trying to harm him?”

“How could you say that?” Asher burst out, his anger flaring. “Why would we ever want to hurt him? Of course we want him

to recover.”

“But with Grandpa’s condition, if you move him overseas, he might never wake up again,” Ophelia said, her voice like ice.” Even if you don’t understand, didn’t the doctors you brought in warn you about this?

“Or did you make this decision without even asking the doctors
