Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 403

Chapter 403

“Ophelia, I swear I have no idea,” the maid stammered, looking flustered. “I was just about to bring Mr. Caldwell his clothes, and only came over because I heard Bianca screaming.”

Ophelia let out a dry laugh at the maid’s excuse, and said, “Wow, you sure run fast. From the third floor all the way to Bianca’ s door on the second, you still beat the rest of us who came down the stairs.”

“I…” The maid was completely stumped, her eyes darting around desperately, trying to come up with another excuse.

“Just give me the clothes,” Ophelia said, already done with the lying maid. ‘Once this mess is sorted, I’ll have the butler kick her out. No way am I keeping someone who can’t be trusted around here.’

With the clothes in hand, Ophelia headed for the room, ready to see what was going on in there.

She didn’t really think Alaric would need her to get him out of trouble. But since he was at the Rowle house, she couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.

But just as she was about to walk in, Alaric came out looking all wronged.

“Ophelia, I told you to keep an eye on me! There are way too many women out there out to get me. Do you even know how close I was to getting played just now?” Alaric complained, clearly pissed. “That woman barged in and started taking off her clothes! If I hadn’t reacted fast, I would’ve totally fallen for her trap!”

Ophelia froze. For a second, she was totally speechless.

She’d guessed Bianca was trying to set him up, and she knew Alaric wouldn’t let Bianca frame him or guilt-trip him. But she had never thought it’d turn out like this.

Alaric loved to put on a show, but he’d always saved this act for her alone. Now he wasn’t even bothering to hide it, putting on a big show in front of everyone. ‘Isn’t he even a little embarrassed with all these people watching?’ Ophelia thought.

Ophelia coughed lightly, trying to remind Alaric to watch himself!

“Ophelia, you think this is unbelievable too, right? No way! I’m calling the cops on her!” Alaric said, whipping out his phone.

“Mr. Caldwell!” Asher blurted out, instinctively stopping him. “This happened at the Rowle house. Please don’t call the police just yet. We should think about both families’ reputation.

“She doesn’t even care about her own reputation, and you’re worried about hers?” Alaric refuted, acting all clueless.

Ophelia rubbed her temples, thinking, ‘Wow, I never realized until today that this drama king could roast someone like this.’

“You…” Asher’s face was a mess of emotions, but he just stood there, stammering and unable to say another word.

His precious celebrity daughter was just called shameless right in front of him.

Of all people, it had to be Alaric. What could he even say?

“Mr. Caldwell,” Bianca said, her face pale as paper. Leaning on Scarlett for support, she put on a look of deep regret as she reached the doorway. “This is all just a misunderstanding.”

“I honestly had no idea you were in my room. I was just getting ready to change for work. I’m really sorry if I caused you any trouble,” Bianca apologized, sounding soft and delicate.

Seeing Bianca show such restraint, Ophelia couldn’t help feeling impressed. ‘She’s definitely not easy to deal with, Ophelia thought.

Even in a mess like this, Bianca managed to flip the script. Not only did she refuse to admit any fault, she even made it seem like Alaric was the one barging into her room. If anyone was in the wrong, it was definitely him.

“Oh,” Alaric said, nodding knowingly. Then, with exaggerated regret, he added, “So Bianca’s not just shameless, but blind

too.”
