Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 404

Chapter 404

But now, she couldn’t afford to let even the tiniest flaw show. To save face, she was determined to stick to her story that it was all just an accident.

“Mr. Caldwell, why are you humiliating me like this? I was just changing in my own room. How could that be wrong?” Bianca’ s eyes were red, tears welling up and making her look heartbreakingly fragile.

“Ophelia, let’s not bother talking to fools. Let’s go,” Alaric was done wasting his energy on this mess.

He really had been pissed off just now. If he hadn’t been alert enough, he’d find no way to prove to Ophelia that he was

innocent.

Luckily, as soon as he stepped into the bathroom, he realized something was off, so he didn’t change. He was about to leave when Bianca barged in and started taking off her clothes right away.

She even acted like she didn’t know he was in the bathroom. ‘Does she really take me for a fool?’ he wondered.

“Go change,” Ophelia said, somehow in a great mood. She cheerfully left with Alaric.

Bianca stumbled, her body going limp. If Scarlett hadn’t been there to hold her up, she probably would’ve collapsed right

then and there.

Bianca watched Alaric walking away without a second glance. Thinking of his harsh words just now, she couldn’t help bursting into tears.

She’d loved him for so many years, and just when she thought she finally had a chance, he hit her with the worst blow possible.

Seeing his daughter so hopeless, Asher burst out, “He’s way out of line! I can’t just stand by and let him bully my girl like

this!”

“Dad,” Bianca called out softly, forcing a bitter smile, “Do you really think I haven’t been humiliated enough already?”

Alaric was even ready to call the cops just to prove he was innocent. Wasn’t that enough for her to get his message?

He’d always been a man who did whatever he wanted, never caring about anyone else. But today, he was willing to wreck his own reputation, putting on the good guy act and playing the victim. He did it for Ophelia just so she’d let her guard

down and trust him.

“Well, Alaric, people like you can’t afford to show any weakness, Bianca sneered, her eyes flashing with cold determination. She spun around and headed back to her room.

Asher and Scarlett traded glances, both looking totally stumped ‘Now what?” Asher muttered.

“Let’s just go with whatever Bianca says,” Scarlett said, her face stormy. “Unless you’ve got a better idea for dealing with

Alaric.”

“I…” Asher was totally at a loss for words, totally beaten. Yeah, he was out of ideas.

Ophelia took Alaric straight to her room.

Her grandpa had this room fixed up for her the moment he heard she was coming back to the Rowle family.

The thing was, she’d been back for ages, but hadn’t actually slept here once.
