Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 412

Chapter 412

Alaric’s eyes were brimming with tenderness as he gently nuzzled the top of her head. Then, looking into her eyes with earnest seriousness, he said, “Ophelia, I like you so much. Will you be my girlfriend?”

Even though they both saw each other’s feelings, he still wanted to make it official and confess his love to her properly. Ophelia’s big, beautiful eyes lit up as she met the warmth and determination in his gaze. She nodded gently and agreed, ” Okay, I’d love to.”

Now that she’d made up her mind, she was ready to embrace her true feelings.

The moment Ophelia said yes, it was like time itself stopped and the whole world held its breath.

Alaric looked at her with eyes full of passion. His beloved girl finally agreed to be his girlfriend.

“Ophelia, from now on, I’m officially yours. You have to protect me,” Alaric said with his best puppy-dog eyes as he rested his chin on her shoulder. “Oliver doesn’t like me. You should go set him straight. He will listen to you.”

“Alaric, how does that even make sense?” Ophelia rolled her eyes at him, totally speechless.

‘Wait, didn’t he just promise to fight the world for me?’ she wondered.

“He’s just super protective of you, which is why he’s been so harsh on me,” Alaric let out a dramatic sigh, sounding completely helpless.

If Oliver wasn’t Ophelia’s brother, Alaric wouldn’t even bother pretending to be nice to him.

“Try to act serious for once, will you?” Ophelia said, half-amused and half-annoyed, gently pushing Alaric’s head off her shoulder. ‘Honestly, why does a grown man like him always complain?’ she thought.

“I am being serious and proper about it,” Alaric retorted, lifting his chin with mock seriousness, like he really meant every word.

Ophelia knew he loved to play the dramatic, so she just rolled her eyes and turned to leave. “I’m heading to the lab. You should go back to the Caldwell Group. I’ll be busy the next few days, so you don’t need to babysit me,” she called out as she walked away.

Just as she was about to step out the door, Alaric stopped her, “Ophelia.”

“What?” Ophelia stopped and glanced back at him.

Before she could react, Alaric rushed to her, pulling her into his arms and kissing her deeply.

Ophelia froze for a moment, but soon relaxed and softly kissed him back.

Ella walked in and froze, hand clamped over her mouth, totally shocked to catch them making out.

‘Damn, this is way too much excitement this early in the morning! Ella thought, her eyes widened in shock.

‘Seriously, they didn’t even bother to close the door?’ she thought.

After hesitating for a second, Ella decided it was smarter not to interrupt. ‘No way am I getting in the middle of their love bubble.’ she decided.

It wasn’t until Ophelia felt that intense stare on her that she realized something was off.

Instinctively, she pushed Alaric away and turned to see Ella standing at the door.

“Boss,” Ella stammered, giving her an awkward wave.

Ophelia sighed, and shot Alaric a blushing glare before she headed off to the lab.

They’d been caught red-handed. There was no point pretending otherwise, or even bothering to explain.

Watching her walk away, Alaric couldn’t help but smile.

He hated saying goodbye to her, but this time, hanging out in the lab with her just wasn’t an option.
