Chapter 417
“Hey…” Ophelia squirmed, but it was no use. She could only sigh in defeat. “Put me down. I can walk myself.”
She was just anxious about her grandpa. It wasn’t like she was actually ignoring her own health.
Alaric stopped in his tracks and looked down at her, “Will you at least eat something?”
“Yes,” Ophelia rolled her eyes at him. ‘When did I ever say I wouldn’t eat?’ she refuted secretly.
“What about rest?” Alaric pressed, figuring it was worth a shot.
Ophelia just gave him a look and pouted, “I’m human, you know
Of course she needed rest, but she wasn’t tired right now. She just wanted to spend a bit more time with her grandpa.
Seeing she’d finally stopped resisting, Alaric relaxed and put her down with a relieved smile on his face.
Ophelia knew that he was just looking out for her. Once she was out of his arms, she shrugged and said, “Come on, let’s grab some food.”
He really was way too tense. She was annoyed, but she hadn’t lost her cool.
She knew there would be many things for her to take care of.
With her chin slightly raised and a proud little swagger, Ophelia marched ahead, and Alaric just watched her with a doting smile behind.
They went to a restaurant.
It was nothing fancy, just a spot near the hospital, chosen for convenience.
They ordered a few simple things to eat and sat down together.
“Ophelia, Mr. Caldwell, you are here too?” There suddenly came surprised voice.
Ophelia frowned slightly and looked up to see Bianca walking over.
When Bianca reached them, she said with a smile,” I was shooting an ad today, and just finished up. When I heard Grandpa was sick, I came straight over. I’m starving after such a long day so I thought I’d grab a bite before heading upstairs. I didn’t expect to run into you two here.”
“Yeah,” Ophelia replied calmly. “We’re hungry too.”
“Mind if I join you?” Bianca said, not even waiting for an answer before she just sat down at their table.
Ophelia gave Bianca a cold glance, but didn’t ask her to leave.
Alaric’s face was cold.
Bianca clenched her jaw, doing her best to look unfazed. She didn’t dare meet Alaric’s eyes, so she turned to Ophelia and tried to strike up a conversation, “Ophelia, how’s Grandpa holding up?”
“The doctors say he needs a good rest,” Ophelia answered, her eyes flickering with suspicion. ‘What’s her angle? Is she here to dig for info? Did Uncle Asher put her up to this?’ she wondered.
