Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 422

Chapter 422

Ophelia looked a bit lost and said, “Mr. Blackwell, what are you talking about?”

‘Who’s ungrateful?’ Ophelia wondered.

Connor shot Alaric a glare, gritting his teeth, “It’s that little brat.”

“Why are you so worked up, Mr. Blackwell?” Alaric said calmly. haven’t done anything lately to get on your nerves, have I?”

He hadn’t even had a chance to visit Connor. How could he have possibly gotten on his bad side?

“Are you really trying to play innocent?” Connor said unhappily. Are you telling me that you had nothing to do with Declan going abroad?”

“What happened to Declan?” Ophelia was even more confused. Why is Alaric getting involved with Declan again?’ she wondered.

“They agreed to a fair competition, but he played dirty and sent Declan overseas!” Connor grumbled. “If I hadn’t asked you to help treat Zachary, you two never would’ve even met and this s all I got in return? He’s so ungrateful.”

Ophelia blinked, and finally realized what was going on.

‘Wait, so Alaric sent Declan overseas just to get rid of his competition?’ Ophelia thought.

‘How childish can he get?’ she couldn’t help but think.

Ophelia just rolled her eyes at Alaric, speechless at how childish he was.

Alaric shrugged, totally unfazed, “Yes, I did it. But tricks are part of the game, and he just couldn’t keep up.”

Connor snorted.

Connor felt a little sorry for Declan missing out, but he knew it wasn’t all Alaric’s scheming. Declan just didn’t have such luck.

If Ophelia had really liked his grandson, no amount of Alaric’s scheming would have changed that.

He knew Ophelia’s personality well enough.

He was just bringing it up to complain a little today.

“Now that I think about it, Mr. Blackwell, you’re basically the matchmaker for Ophelia and me. When we get married, you must come to our wedding,” Alaric knew Connor wasn’t actually upset.

“Getting the perks and still playing innocent?” Connor shot Alaric a glare.

Alaric raised her eyebrows and asked confidently, “Well, are you coming or not?”

“Of course I’ll be there,” Connor said, puffing up with pride. “And you two better show me some respect.”

If this was what Ophelia wanted, he’d be the first to wish her all the best.

He would certainly go to their wedding because he was genuinely happy for Ophelia.

“Of course,” Alaric agreed immediately.

He knew that Connor really cared about Ophelia.

“Connor, you’re acting more childish as you get older. What’s the point of bickering with the kids?” Zachary chuckled.

“Another one getting all the perks and still acting innocent. Now I finally see where that little brat gets it from,” Connor said

as he wheeled Zachary’s wheelchair on. “Alright, I’ve seen you, so I can stop worrying. Let me get you home. I’m not sticking around to get roasted by you two.”

“Let’s go home and play chess,” Zachary said as Connor wheeled him away.

“Now that’s more like it,” Connor said.

“See? You’re indeed childish, aren’t you?” Zachary teased.

Watching the two old men leave, Ophelia smiled.

‘It’s really a blessing to be such old friends, she thought.

“I do hope Grandpa gets well soon, so he can get back to playing chess and chatting with his old friends,” Ophelia

murmured.

“I’m sure he will,” Alaric gently rested his hand on
