Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 433

Chapter 433

Now that Henry had gotten what he came for, Asher figured Henry was itching to leave anyway.

Ending up behind bars, Asher could only kick himself for being so blind about who he was dealing with.

If only he’d never let Henry’s sweet talk mess with his head, and just stuck to running the branch office like he was supposed to. Maybe everything would’ve been different.

“I wouldn’t bother to lay a finger on Bianca or Daphne,” Henry sad calmly before he got up to leave.

He really had no reason to stay. He had other matters to handle elsewhere.

“Let’s see if you can even take over the Rowle family,” Asher called out, disappearing into the holding area without so much as a backward glance.

Henry froze for a moment, his face darkening as he let out a cold, dismissive snort.

After years of swallowing his pride and putting up with everything, losing just wasn’t an option for him.

No matter what, he’d won this round. He was sure he’d keep coming out on top.

The Rowle family and the Rowle Group. Every bit of it should’ve been his. His big brother was a total failure, so it should’ve gone to him, not Miles. The fact that it went to Miles instead really pissed him off.

He was going to prove he was the one who had what it took to take it all…

The next day was sunny and bright.

Ophelia had stayed in the lab all night again.

When she came out, she looked a little pale and exhausted.

Alaric frowned and said with concern, “Not going well, huh?”

Ophelia let out a soft sigh, shaking her head slightly, her face clouded with worry.

The antidote research wasn’t going well at all. ‘Could Asher be right? Is he truly the only one who can solve this?’ Ophelia wondered, doubt creeping in.

“Don’t worry. We’ll think of something,” Alaric said, giving her shoulder a comforting squeeze.

Even if Asher wasn’t just bluffing, Alaric still believed Ophelia could do it. She didn’t need to be afraid of his threats.

“Ophelia, don’t lose heart. I know you can do it,” Alaric kept encouraging her.

Ophelia looked up at him, and the calmness in his eyes eased some of her frustration.

“I’m fine, just a little tired,” Ophelia said with a smile. She’d been putting way too much pressure on herself. She was so on edge.

“Oh, I made you breakfast. Eat something and take a rest,” Alaric said, taking her hand and steering her toward the lounge.

“Alaric,” Ophelia called, watching his broad shoulders as he walked ahead. She bit her lips and, after a pause, said softly,” Thank you.”

She knew he’d spent the whole night outside the lab with her, even though he had work to do during the day. And lately, he’ d been splitting his attention to help her sort out her uncle’s problems…

Alaric turned back to her and said with a playful smile, “Is that all I get?”

“Huh?” Ophelia froze for a second. When she met his playful gaze, she instantly got what he meant and couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him.
