Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 436

Chapter 436

Confused, Ophelia ended up following Henry to the special care ward.

Ever since her grandfather’s condition stabilized and all he needed was the antidote, Ophelia had moved him to the special care ward.

It made it easier for people to visit her grandfather, and she didn’t want them to feel too much pressure.

After all, an ICU situation always made people think things were really bad, and it could even make them feel hopeless. When they arrived at the special care ward, Ophelia watched as Henry walked in and sat by the bed, putting on a show of grief. She couldn’t help but scoff secretly.

‘Acting concerned now? Grandpa’s been in the hospital for so long. How many times has he actually bothered to come?’ Ophelia thought.

“Dad, we were all shocked by what happened, but you can rest easy. Asher has already confessed, and he’ll face the consequences,” Henry said.

“Dad, everyone’s really worried about you. Ophelia and Miles are doing everything they can to make an antidote. I’m sure you’re going to pull through,” he added.

As Henry kept talking, Ophelia listened without picking up on anything unusual. She shot him a cold look before she turned and walked out.

Ophelia had just finished sorting through her data. Next up were the experiments. She needed to make sure the antidote really worked and wouldn’t cause any nasty side effects. That meant she still had to round up some mice for the tests.

Ophelia left without noticing that Henry was watching her go.

“Hmph, she’s got plenty of tricks up her sleeve,” Henry snorted.

He’d known she was tailing him from the moment she showed up. He’d never let her see through him.

“Dad, Miles did find you a good granddaughter. Who would’ve guessed she’d turn out to be some kind of miracle doctor? But she’s a girl after all. Don’t get your hopes up thinking she can actually figure out an antidote,” Henry sneered, his face and voice turning icy in a flash.

“I know you can sense everything around you, so I bet you can hear every word I’m saying. So think hard. Are you going to sign that will or not? If you do, I will save you. If you don’t, you’ll be stuck in this half-dead state forever,”

Henry said, giving his father’s arm a light pat. “I’ll drop by every day. When you’ve finally decided to agree to my terms, just give your finger a little twitch. I’ll catch it.”

“And remember one thing. Right now, I’m the only one who can save you. Ophelia can’t do a thing. If you want to ask her for help, go ahead and see where that gets you,” Henry said, standing up. His eyes were cold and merciless, a far cry from the friendly, honest look he used to put on around others.

After Henry left, his father just lay there, motionless and silent, showing no reaction at all.

No one knew if he could really hear Henry, or if he was simply choosing to ignore him.

Back in the lab, Ophelia injected some poisoned blood into the mice, and then gave them the antidote. Now all she could do was wait and see if it worked.

When her phone rang, she answered and put it on speaker.

“Hey, Ella,” Ophelia asked. “What’s up?”

“Hey, boss, how’s it going on your end?” Ella’s voice came through, full of concern. “Any progress on the antidote?” “I’ve got the basic data, but now I need results from the animal tests,” Ophelia replied in a low voice.
