Chapter 447
But Ophelia had to admit that her grandfather was right. She was the only one who could deal with this without breaking a
sweat.
“But Grandpa, you’re still healthy and strong. There’s no need to talk about the will just yet,” Ophelia said, switching the topic after agreeing to put his mind at ease.
Honestly, she agreed simply to put his mind at ease.
Deep down, she felt the whole will thing was so far away. Who knew what things would be like when it was actually needed? Maybe it wouldn’t be as dramatic as her grandfather imagined.
“Alright, let’s not talk about that,” Grandpa Tristan said, following Ophelia’s lead. “Well, tell me about you and Alaric. When are you two getting engaged?”
“Huh?” Ophelia was stunned. ‘Why is Grandpa suddenly bringing this up?’ she thought.
“Just because I was out cold doesn’t mean I didn’t know what was going on,” he said with a smug smile. “You and Alaric are together now, right? Are you really planning to keep things unofficial?”
Ophelia answered frankly, “No hurry. I haven’t even decided if I want to make it official for him yet.”
The room fell silent.
Grandpa.Tristan stared at Ophelia, his mouth opening slightly, but no sound came out.
‘Is that really what I meant?’ Sebastian wondered.
But seeing how calm and serious Ophelia looked, he realized she wasn’t messing with him.
After a moment, he let out a hearty laugh and said, “Alright, Ophelia, you take your time and think it over.”
He’d never heard anyone put it that way before, but after a pause, he realized there was nothing wrong with it.
Love was a two-way street, so both sides should have a say.
If Ophelia felt that way, as her grandfather, he would certainly support her.
Ophelia smiled with a sense of gentle warmth spreading through her body.
She hadn’t expected her grandfather to accept it so easily, but she wasn’t totally surprised.
She’d grown up in the Vossen family, but it was only after returning to the Rowle family that she truly understood what family and love meant.
That was why she had been willing to do whatever it took to save her grandfather.
Here, she finally knew what it meant to have a real home and to be truly loved.
After chatting for a while, Ophelia gently reminded her grandfather to get some rest.
He’d just recovered from the poison and was still feeling weak, so he needed some rest to regain his strength.
As Ophelia left Grandpa Tristan’s room and headed downstairs, the atmosphere in the quiet living room suddenly became tense.
Everyone in the family looked up at her as she walked to them, asking her what was going on with their eyes.
“Grandpa’s asleep,” Ophelia said softly, and then took a seat on the couch.
“He’s doing alright, but after everything he’s been through and with his age, he’ll need some time to rest and recover,” she turned to the butler. “From now on, I want you to personally oversee every detail of Grandpa’s meals and daily routine. If anything seems off with his health, you must tell me immediately.”
“Of course, Miss Ophelia,” the butler nodded respectfully.
