Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 451

Chapter 451

Since she’d just arrived, Ophelia needed to check out the current status of all the artists.

“Yes, Ms. Rowle.” Anna replied, setting down a folder. “Everything’s in here.”

Since Ophelia was the new director, Anna figured she’d want to get the lay of the land, so she’d gotten everything ready.

“Mm,” Ophelia said, her eyes flashing with satisfaction. ‘She’s a smart girl. She’s got initiative, she thought.

After reading through the documents, Ophelia got the gist of it.

It looked like things hadn’t changed much since the last time she checked, even though it had been a while.

“Give this project to Lucia,” Ophelia said, casually pointing to one of the projects for Anna to see.

Anna’s eyes widened in surprise, and she hesitated, “I’m not sure that’s a good idea.”

“What’s the problem?” Ophelia raised her eyebrows, her gaze turning cold.

“It’s just…” Anna looked uncomfortable. “Bianca’s already asked for this project.”

Ophelia feigned confusion and asked, “Just because she asked for it, we have to give it to her?”

“Yeah,” Anna nodded enthusiastically, explaining, “Ms. Rowle, you probably don’t know yet, but every project in the company

has to go to Bianca first. She gets first pick. Only after she’s chosen can anyone else even think about it.”

This was the company’s biggest project this year. If someone managed to land it and everything went smoothly, he could even snag an award by year’s end. Even if not this year, next year it would pretty much a sure thing.

So, a lot of people in the company were eyeing this project. But since Bianca had already claimed it, everyone else just had to suck it up and keep quiet.

Ophelia’s eyes glinted with sarcasm. ‘Guess she’s not all that good, just hogging the best projects to make herself look good,’ she thought.

“Her opinion doesn’t matter,” Ophelia said calmly, signing her name with a flourish. She was handpicking Lucia for the lead role, no questions asked.

Anna gasped and nodded quickly. “Got it.”

No one in the Rowle Group had ever dared say Bianca didn’t matter, not until now.

But when Anna spotted Ophelia’s signature at the bottom, her eyes widened. ‘Ophelia Rowle? Wait, isn’t that…’ she thought, totally stunned.

Mr. Rowle had just told her to follow the new director’s orders. Who could’ve guessed the new boss was such a big shot?

But they were both part of the Rowle family. How come the new director just overruled Bianca’s decision as soon as she took charge?

“Is there something else?” Ophelia raised her eyebrows, her voice edged with authority as she noticed Anna still lingering.

“Oh, no,” Anna snapped back to reality and quickly replied, “Ms. Rowle, I’ll get back to work now.”

After Anna left, Ophelia rubbed her temples.

Favoring certain people with resources was pretty standard, but when it went too far, it would do no good to the company.

Ophelia guessed the last director’s hands were tied. With Bianca’s position, who could actually stand up to her in the office?
