Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 460

Chapter 460

An hour later.

Ophelia carefully removed the needles from Alaric’s body one by one and put them away.

She started rummaging through her backpack. She had everything she needed, so it didn’t take long for her to find the fever-reducing medicine. She dissolved it in water and helped Alaric drink it.

With the acupuncture and the medicine working together, Alaric’s fever quickly subsided, and he was soon drenched in

sweat.

His clothes were drenched in sweat, everywhere she looked, he was soaked through.

Ophelia grabbed a towel and wiped his forehead and neck, but it was tricky to reach any lower.

So she unbuttoned his shirt, and seeing how wet it was, she steeled herself and just took it off, planning to change him into something dry so he could sleep more comfortably.

She undid all the buttons, exposing his toned chest. She froze for a moment, then forced herself to keep going.

She tried to slip one sleeve off his arm, but it wouldn’t budge. She had to get really close, trying to work his arm out of the sleeve.

Just as Ophelia was practically sprawled over Alaric, wrestling with his sleeve, he slowly opened his eyes.

Seeing her pretty face so close, he was stunned for a moment. The chill in his gaze vanished, replaced by a warmth so deep it was almost tangible.

Alaric stretched out his arm, pulled her straight into his arms, and with a playful smirk said, “Ophelia, you’re awfully forward today. I hardly know how to react.”

Ophelia was totally thrown by his sudden move, staring at him, wide-eyed. “You’re awake.”

“If I hadn’t woken up, how would I know you were getting handsy with me while I was asleep?” Alaric grinned, looking way too pleased with himself.

Ophelia’s cheeks turned pink as she huffed, “Quit it! Who’s making a move on you?”

“You’ve already undressed me, Ophelia, and you still won’t admit it?” Alaric complained, sounding all wounded. “You’ve seen everything, are you really not going to take responsibility for me?”

“Shut up!” Ophelia blurted out, grabbing his hand on reflex. Her cheeks were burning red.

‘Unbelievable, he can say the wildest things with a straight face, Ophelia thought, completely flustered.

With his mouth covered, Alaric just gave Ophelia a pointed look, raising his brows to remind her he was still bare-chested.

Ophelia caught his meaning and couldn’t help rolling her eyes. Seriously, I was just trying to change his wet clothes. What’ s going on in his head?’ she thought.

“I should’ve just let you sleep,” Ophelia muttered under her breath, sounding’a little annoyed.

‘Honestly, he’s way less trouble when he’s knocked out,’ she thought.

“Would you really let me go, Ophelia?” Alaric pulled her even closer, resting his chin in the hollow of her neck, taking in her

scent.

“Let

go

of me,” Ophelia said, patting his arm. “You’re still not doing great. Let me take another look at you.”
