Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 465

Chapter 465

“Alright, enough with the theatrics, go back to your meeting,” Ophelia said, rolling her eyes at his over-the-top antics. She didn’t bother arguing and just pushed him out the door.

But as she stepped out, she saw Ryan rushing over, and in his haste, he dropped a few papers.

“Sorry, Mr. Caldwell,” Ryan said, quickly crouching down to pick up the scattered documents.

Ophelia glanced down, spotted a design draft, raised an eyebrow, and reached out to grab it without thinking.

“Is this your new design?” Ophelia asked, her gaze growing serious, but her face gave nothing away.

Ryan didn’t quite get what Ophelia was getting at, so he just answered automatically, “Yeah, we were about to go over it in the meeting.”

Alaric, however, fixed his gaze on Ophelia and asked, “Got any thoughts?”

She seemed genuinely interested in the design draft, but it looked like she wasn’t totally sold on it.

Ryan finally realized, his eyes wide in surprise. “Ophelia, you know design?”

‘Seriously, is there anything she can’t do?’ Ryan thought, totally impressed.

“I know a little,” Ophelia replied calmly with a nod. “If you don’t mind, I can check it out for you.”

Normally, she wouldn’t have bothered, but with how he was doing lately, he really shouldn’t be overworking himself.

So she decided to check it out, maybe she could actually help, and maybe he’d finally get a chance to rest.

“No problem at all! You’re basically Mrs. Caldwell,” Ryan blurted out, still amazed that Ophelia actually knew design.

‘Sooner or later, she’s family anyway, so what’s the big deal?’ Ryan thought to himself.

Ophelia nearly facepalmed. ‘I’m just trying to help him out because he’s not feeling great, and suddenly I’m getting called Mrs. Caldwell? Seriously?’

Alaric was absolutely loving it. He grabbed Ophelia’s hand, pulling her along with a smug little smile. “You’re helping because you feel sorry for me, right? I knew it, nobody loves me more than you, Ophelia.”

Ophelia’s mouth twitched so hard she almost rolled her eyes. ‘Unbelievable, this guy… Is it too late to bail now?’ she thought.

But before she could even think about escaping, Alaric had already whisked her off into the makeshift conference room

next door.

The people already waiting in the room were stunned for a moment when they saw Ophelia walk in, then started exchanging confused looks, they had no clue what was happening.

“Take a seat,” Alaric said, motioning for everyone to sit down. He and Ophelia took the main seats, and he even gave her most of the table space.

The group was still puzzled about why Ophelia was suddenly here, but one thing was obvious, she was definitely not someone they could afford to offend.

“Proceed,” Alaric said coolly. Instantly, everyone tensed up, quickly averting their eyes from Ophelia and bowing their heads, not daring to make a sound.
