Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 471

Chapter 471

For now, though, she wasn’t going to say anything to Alaric. She’d wait until she actually found some clues before bringing

it up.

Alaric walked over and wrapped Ophelia in his arms, a playful smile in his eyes. “With Caterina’s star designer personally on board, how could we ever lose?”

Ophelia looked surprised for a second, then just shrugged. “As long as you remember, my rates don’t come cheap.”

Normally, tracking down her real identity would be nearly impossible, but with Alaric involved, he could find out anything if he wanted.

“I’ll give you everything I own,” Alaric said, a wicked grin curling at his lips. “And if that’s still not enough, I’ll throw myself in too, marry you, be yours, whatever you want.”

Ophelia shot him a playful look, her voice tinged with mock resentment. “Isn’t that a bit ungrateful, Mr. Caldwell? You sure know how to repay a favor.”

Alaric couldn’t help but laugh, half amused, half helpless. He reached out and tapped her forehead. “Do you have any idea how many people would die to have me? And you’re just turning up your nose at it.”

“I bet there are tons,” Ophelia shrugged, looking innocent. “But that’s none of my business.”

“None of your business, huh?” Alaric’s eyes narrowed, his tone suddenly carrying a dangerous, teasing edge.

‘Just look at her, saying whatever she wants just to rile me up, Alaric thought, both annoyed and amused.

Ophelia realized what Alaric was about to do and tried to shove him away, but she was already caught. He pulled her into his arms and claimed her lips in a fierce, domineering kiss.

One hand gripped her waist, the other cradled the back of her head, he gave her no room to break free.

His wild, relentless kiss completely wiped out her self-control…

They were caught up in a heated kiss when, out of nowhere, the door burst open and someone walked in.

Ryan froze in place, clutching the lunchbox. ‘Crap, am I about to get banished to a foreign country to dig for gold?’ he panicked.

“Ahem.” Ophelia jerked back to reality, shoving Alaric away so hard she started coughing.

Alaric shot Ryan a cold, deadly glare. Ryan jolted, quickly set the lunchbox down and stammered, “Mr. Caldwell, I brought lunch for Mrs. Caldwell.”

He dropped the lunchbox and bolted out of the room like he was running for his life.

He’d only gone out to grab lunch, and now the whole vibe in the room had flipped upside down.

‘Crap, am I about to get kicked out? Should I start packing my stuff?’ Ryan thought, panic rising.

Back in the room, Alaric’s anger melted away as soon as Ryan blurted out “Mrs. Caldwell.”

Even though getting interrupted pissed him off, he let Ryan off the hook, at least the guy finally used his brain for once.

“You must be hungry, Ophelia,” Alaric said, giving her hair a gentle tousle. “Come on, let’s eat.”
