Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 473

Chapter 473

He couldn’t shake the feeling that none of them had ever truly understood Alaric, which was why he’d always held back from supporting their relationship.

But seeing how Ophelia had clearly caught feelings for Alaric, he knew that speaking out now would probably just make her dig her heels in even more. For now, all he could do was watch and see how things played out.

Ophelia went back to her room, freshened up quickly, and flopped onto her bed.

She hadn’t been all that tired these last few days, but she definitely hadn’t gotten enough sleep. Now, sprawled out on her own comfy bed, she could finally just chill.

Suddenly, her phone started ringing.

Seeing it was Ella calling, Ophelia picked up.

“Boss, how’s it going? Having fun these past couple of days?” Ella teased, her voice full of mischief.

‘She dropped everything and ran over just because Alaric was sick. Boss is really soft on him, Ella thought, amused.

‘Bet the two of them were all lovey-dovey the whole time,’ she couldn’t help but smirk to herself.

“Thinking about your bonus again, aren’t you?” Ophelia said, her tone carrying a playful threat.

Ella snickered, sounding a little cheeky, but quickly pleaded, “Nope, I could never have too much bonus!”

Ophelia rolled her eyes and gritted her teeth. “Don’t tell me you called just to talk about bonuses.”

‘If she actually admits it, her bonus is toast next month, Ophelia thought to herself.

“Of course not! Just thought I’d ask while I was at it,” Ella suddenly got all serious and meek.

“Okay, what’s this really about?” Ophelia’s tone calmed down. She knew Ella was all about the gossip, but when it came to work, she was always reliable.

“So, about Bianca, you asked me to keep tabs on her, right? Well, I’ve got an update,” Ella said, her tone growing more serious.

“Turns out she’s been constantly messaging some unknown number lately. I looked into it, but couldn’t figure out who it is.”

“That mysterious, huh?” Ophelia raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile tugging at her lips.

“And Bianca’s been getting all these new opportunities lately. I’m pretty sure it’s got something to do with this person,” Ella paused, then lowered her voice. “Boss, you don’t think she’s got herself a sugar daddy, do you?”

“I really don’t think so,” Ophelia said, shaking her head. “If it was just some sugar daddy thing, why would the guy be all cloak-and-dagger about it? No way he’d go to such crazy lengths to hide his tracks.”

“Maybe his identity is just way too sensitive to go public,” Ella guessed. ‘If that’s the case, of course he’d have to keep everything super hush-hush, she thought.

Ophelia let out a helpless laugh. “Seriously, Ella, rein in that gossip brain of yours. If someone’s gotta be that secretive, there’s no way they’d risk getting mixed up in something as messy as keeping a mistress.”

‘If he’s so paranoid about getting exposed, why would he set himself up for disaster like that?’ Ophelia thought, shaking her head.

Ella blinked, finally getting it. “Oh, right.”

“But then, why does this mystery guy keep hitting up Bianca all the time?” Ella wondered aloud, her curiosity piqued.’ Seriously, that’s so sketchy, she thought.

Ophelia frowned, her gaze darkening a little. “Keep watching her, but don’t spook them just yet.”
