Chapter 475
Ophelia couldn’t help but shake her head, half amused, half exasperated. “Are you here just to tease me?” ‘Why does he sound like he’s complaining that I’ve been ignoring him?’ Ophelia thought.
“Yeah, actually, I did have a reason for dropping by,” George said with a little shrug. “It’s about a project.”
“Oh,” Ophelia said, standing up and motioning for George to take a seat. “Come on, sit down.”
Once they were both seated, Ophelia cut straight to the chase. “So, what’s this about?”
“I’m planning to invest in a movie, and I was hoping Rowle Entertainment could produce it,” George said, getting straight to the point.
On the surface, he was here to discuss business, but in reality, he just wanted more chances to be around her.
He only came up with the whole movie investment plan after he heard she’d taken the Director position at Rowle Entertainment.
Ophelia blinked, a little curious. “What made you suddenly want to try your hand at the entertainment business?”
She remembered shutting down Lawson Group’s entertainment division back then because the company just wasn’t in a good place to handle that kind of project.
‘Wow, did George really get Lawson Group back on track that fast and already start branching out?’ Ophelia thought to herself.
Noticing what she was thinking, George flashed an easy smile and said, “I’ve been curious about the entertainment world, but didn’t want to dive in headfirst. That’s why I thought of you, Rowle Entertainment is pretty much at the top of the game.”
Ophelia gave him a teasing grin. “Wow, talk about raising the stakes for me.”
“No need to stress,” George replied with a grin. “If Rowle Entertainment can’t make it work, I honestly can’t think of anyone who could. So really, don’t feel any pressure. If the profits aren’t there, I guess I was never cut out for this business anyway.”
Seeing how laid-back he was, Ophelia frowned slightly. “That’s not how most investors act.”
‘Who invests in something and just shrugs it off if it doesn’t pan out?’ Ophelia thought to herself.
“You wouldn’t really let me just throw in the towel, would you?” George joked, a playful glint in his eye.
Ophelia’s tone shifted, all business now. “Let me see the project file first.”
He clearly already had his mind made up, so she figured she might as well check it out and see what it was all about.
If the project actually looked promising, teaming up with him wouldn’t be a problem.
“Sure,” George said, pulling out a file and handing it over to Ophelia. “Go ahead and check it out. If anything’s unclear, just hit me up anytime.”
“Alright,” Ophelia nodded, setting the file aside for now.
George glanced at the time and said, testing the waters, “Lunch break’s coming up. Want to grab lunch together?”
Ophelia looked up at him, and before she could respond, George added quickly, “We can go over the project while we eat.”
Ophelia nodded, “Sounds good.”
Since it was almost lunchtime anyway, talking things through over food seemed like a good idea.
George flashed a quick smile, then schooled his expression back to neutral before saying, “Let’s go.”
