Ophelia Gets Thrown Out (Ophelia) novel Chapter 491

Chapter 491

‘What is she saying?’ Alaric wondered, feeling a bit put off.

When she saw Alaric’s expression turn sour, Ophelia couldn’t help but feel a little more cheerful.

Seeing the time was about right, Ophelia got up and strolled over to take the needles out of Alaric.

Standing right in front of him, Ophelia kept her gaze straight ahead, quickly pulled out the needles, and walked out without even looking back.

“Ophelia,” Alaric called after her, but she didn’t even pause. He tried to sit up, only to realize he was still stuck and couldn’t

move.

Alaric shook his head, a mix of amusement and helplessness on his face. ‘Great, now I have to lie here for another two hours. If I’d known she’d get this mad, I wouldn’t have messed with her earlier, he thought.

‘Guess I really pushed her buttons this time. My girl is definitely getting back at me, he sighed.

As soon as Ophelia stepped out, Ryan, who’d been waiting anxiously, rushed over. “Ms. Rowle, how’s Mr. Caldwell?”

“All good. He just has to wait it out, then he’ll be fine,” Ophelia said, and walked off without another word.

Ryan watched her leave in a hurry, scratching his head, totally baffled. “Did I miss something?”

But Ophelia just ignored him and was already gone.

Ryan pushed open the door with a cheerful look. “Mr. Caldwell, Ms. Rowle said everything went smoothly. You’ll need to stay lying down a bit longer before you can move. Is there anything I can help you with?”

“Where’s Ophelia?” Alaric asked, his gaze darkening. ‘Why did Ryan come in instead of her?’ he wondered.

Realizing he was being brushed off, Ryan forced a smile. “Ms. Rowle already left. She seemed to be in a hurry, probably had something urgent to deal with.”

Alaric’s lips twitched almost imperceptibly. ‘Is she really mad at me this time?’ he thought, a bit uneasy.

But Ophelia wasn’t actually angry, she was just really flustered, her cheeks feeling hot the whole time.

That’s why she practically bolted out of Caldwell Group, she needed to get away and calm herself down.

By the time Ophelia got back to New City Tower, it was almost lunchtime.

Ella looked up, surprised. “Wow, Boss, you’re back so soon? I thought you’d be out until this afternoon, or maybe not coming in at all today.”

She’d figured Ophelia would be out for the rest of the day, or maybe not show up at all.

Ophelia handed the medical kit to Ella, saying casually, “It all went fine, so I just wrapped up and came back.”

And with that, she walked straight into her office.

Ella put the medical kit away and followed Ophelia in, her eyes serious. “I’ve got some news, Boss. I didn’t want to interrupt your treatment session with Mr. Caldwell, so I held off calling you.”

“What’s up?” Ophelia looked up at Ella, her expression turning grim.

“That business account you asked me to look into? Turns out it’s offshore. We still haven’t nailed down who’s behind it, but one thing’s clear, Bianca and this mystery person have some secret dealings going on.

“I bet those projects are just a smokescreen. Boss, you really need to watch your back,” Ella said, her face growing more tense with every word.

Ophelia’s eyes narrowed for a moment, her voice icy. “Boss, I want you to have someone keep a close eye on Bianca from

now on.”

“You think she’s about to make a move?” Ella asked, a hint of caution in her eyes. If that offshore account really was shady. then Ophelia’s suspicions definitely made sense.
