Chapter 493
They were big shots in Dunhollow. Their instincts were razor-sharp, and most importantly, they offered their unconditional
support.
“Let’s just wait for news,” Ophelia said, her eyes glinting with confidence. She was certain that the mastermind wouldn’t be able to sit still for long, sooner or later, they’d have to show themselves.
“I can’t wait to see who this mastermind really is,” Ella muttered through gritted teeth, her anger barely contained.
‘Who could possibly have convinced Bianca to betray the Rowle family from the inside? What could they possibly gain from taking the Rowles down?’ Ella wondered.
Three days flew by in the blink of an eye.
Finally, someone threw a contract down onto Ophelia’s desk.
Ophelia looked up at the visitor and grinned knowingly. “So it’s you.”
She’d almost forgotten about the one Vossen who’d managed to get away, Carter.
He’d been missing for ages, impossible to track down. Turns out he’d been hiding out abroad all this time.
‘So what’s he back for now? Is he here to settle the score?’ Ophelia thought to herself.
“Bet being the Rowle family’s heiress feels pretty good, huh?” Carter said, pulling up a chair and giving Ophelia a look that said he was just here for the show.
“Yeah, I’m really happy,” Ophelia replied, nodding with genuine sincerity. “It’s way better than anything the Vossen family could ever offer.”
“The Vossen family raised you. How can you be so heartless?” Carter snapped, his teeth clenched in anger.
Ophelia shrugged, a hint of contempt in her voice. “Come on, does it even matter anymore? Why bother talking about this?”
‘Typical Vossen attitude, always quick to blame someone else,’ Ophelia thought with a trace of disdain.
“Indeed.” Carter didn’t bother arguing about the past. He simply tapped the contract. “Honor the agreement, or compensate for the losses.”
He’d been holding back for so long, waiting for this very moment. Now, he was finally going to make Ophelia and the Rowle family pay.
Ophelia was ruthless, sure, but only because the Rowle family had given her shelter. If not for them, the Vossen family would never have ended up like this.
“Fine,” Ophelia replied coolly, picking up the phone and pressing a button. “Bring her in.”
“What do you mean?” Carter asked, a flicker of unease creeping into his voice. Ophelia’s calm demeanor was starting to
unnerve him.

Sure enough, a moment later, Anna walked in with a haggard-looking Bianca’ in tow.
Carter’s eyes widened in shock when he saw Bianca. “What are you doing here?”
“She signed your contract, so she’s here to do her job. Where else would she be?” Ophelia replied, blinking innocently.
Carter was left speechless, a chill running down his spine as he stared at Ophelia’s faint smile.
Now it all clicked, Ophelia had set this trap all along.
“No, that’s impossible. I’ve been in touch with her these past few days. She wasn’t even in the country,” Carter shot back, unwilling to believe it. He’d been so careful, double-checking everything before he dared to show up.
“Don’t you know? Al these days can mimic a person’s voice and even their face,” Ophelia shot Carter a mocking look, lips curling into a smirk.
She knew the mastermind was cautious, so of course she’d made sure to cover all her bases.
Phone calls were nothing, even if Carter had video called Bianca, Ophelia had ways to trick him into believing Bianca was still abroad, making him think their plan was a success.
“You!” Carter was totally blindsided, left speechless. After all his plotting, he’d been played for a fool.
“You picked the wrong person to team up with,” Ophelia said, her voice laced with fake concern. “She’s been gunning for me since the day she got back. Like I’d ever tru
