Chapter 494
After all, when the Vossen family collapsed, Carter disappeared without a trace. She’d figured he’d just cut his losses and run, never expecting he’d been hiding in the shadows, waiting for a shot at revenge.
Carter was stunned for a moment, his expression growing even uglier.
‘She actually forgot about me completely, like I never even existed to her, Carter thought, humiliation burning in his chest.
“Alright, don’t waste any more of my time. Weren’t you desperate to kick off the project? She’s right here, take her and get going,” Ophelia said, jerking her chin toward Bianca, making it clear the ball was in his court now.
Carter nearly lost it. There was never any real project, he and Bianca had just set up a trap, waiting for the right moment to pin the blame on Rowle Group, put them in a bind, and then figure out how to drag them down for good.
But now, with everything falling apart, he had no grounds left to fight back. Fuming with nowhere to vent his anger, he got up and stormed out.
‘What’s the use of that idiot Bianca now? Just here to piss me off?’ Carter thought bitterly.
Ophelia glanced up at Bianca, her voice steady and almost casual. “Looks like he’s done with you. So, what now? Don’t tell me you actually plan on sticking around here.”
Bianca was so stunned by Ophelia’s calmness, she nearly choked on the spot.
Ever since she’d been stopped at the airport, locked up in a hotel, and completely cut off from the outside world, she knew the whole plan had gone up in smoke.
“I lost. Do whatever you want,” Bianca said, surprisingly calm for once as she spoke to Ophelia.
“What do you expect me to do? You were the one who made the deal with him. Now he’s bailed, but the contract’s still here, and the company’s cut is staying right where it is,” Ophelia replied, all business.
“We’ve got a ton of artists here, if I let you off easy, how am I supposed to keep the rest in line?” she continued.
“Drop the fake sympathy. Just spit it out, what do you really want?” Bianca snapped, glaring at Ophelia. She didn’t believe for a second that Ophelia would ever let her walk away unscathed. ‘What’s the point of all that righteous talk?’ she thought bitterly.
“I’m not out to do anything to you. It’s just that the company can’t keep you around anymore,” Ophelia said, her voice cool and detached. In other words, Bianca was on her own now, whatever happened next, she’d have to deal with it herself.
Bianca gave a hollow, bitter laugh. With her reputation and standing in ruins, no one would touch her with a ten-foot pole after leaving Rowle Group. But even if she stayed, she was done here, too, her career was over either way.
She’d crashed and burned, falling from the spotlight straight to rock bottom.

“Anna, show her out,” Ophelia said, clearly in a good mood as she got up and left the office ahead of everyone else.
She needed to head over to Oliver’s office and fill him in on everything, he was still waiting for the update.
As for Bianca, Ophelia couldn’t care less. Losing everything she had, the once-proud Bianca had been knocked off her pedestal. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but Bianca would just have to deal with it, there was no going back now.
