Whatever. Someone was offering double the price for the bracelet. This was a massive benefit to her! When she cashed out at the end of the shift tonight, she could deduct the original price of the bracelet and pocket the rest!
The bracelet cost two hundred thousand dollars. Double the price was four hundred thousand. That meant she would make a pure profit of two hundred thousand today!
Two hundred thousand!
Just thinking about it made her heart race!
The way the manager looked at Stella changed entirely. She said respectfully, "Certainly, miss. I will swipe your card right away."
With that, she reached out to take Stella's Black Card.
Una wasn't having it. She blurted out impulsively, "Why are you swiping her card? Do you think I can't afford it? Swipe mine. I'll pay triple the price for this bracelet."
The manager's eyes practically lit up like lightbulbs.
Triple!
She could make four hundred thousand!
She turned to take Una's card, but Stella spoke up again. "No way. I saw this bracelet first. I am buying it today no matter what. I'll pay five times the price. Swipe my card."
The manager's eyes grew even brighter!
Five times!
A million dollars! She could take home eight hundred thousand! She was going to be rich, rich!
Una was so angry with Stella she could practically spit blood. She yelled furiously, "Why do you insist on crossing me? Get the hell out of here if you know what's good for you, or I'll make you regret it!"
"You're the one who can't afford it, so who are you trying to threaten? I think you're the one who should get out. Don't have the cash? Stop pretending to be a big shot."
Una shrieked, "Who are you saying can't afford it? I am the proud daughter of the Lowell family. Can a hillbilly like you compare? I'll pay ten times the price for this bracelet! You, swipe my card right now!"
Besides her eyes shining with greed, the manager's mouth was hanging wide open.
Ten times!
