After returning from his "business trip," Julius headed straight to the Imperial Gardens.

When he found the house empty, he assumed Stella was out with friends. Glancing at the clock, he figured it was past six—she should be home soon.

He took the initiative to cook dinner. Feeling grimy from the kitchen grease, he also took a quick shower.

When seven o'clock rolled around and there was still no sign of her, he called Stella's phone.

"Stella, I'm back from my trip. Dinner's ready whenever you get home."

"You never told me when you were getting back, so you'll have to eat by yourself. I went over to the Manor to have dinner with Grandma today. I'm on my way back to the Imperial Gardens now."

Julius couldn't hide his disappointment. "Alright. If I had known, I would have called you the minute I got back. We could've all had dinner together."

"Well, you're the one who wasn't thinking. Since you missed out on a feast, enjoy dining solo." With that, Stella hung up.

Julius felt a flash of irritation. Did Stella really just call him slow?

Whatever. He wouldn't hold it against the girl.

Suddenly losing his appetite for the carefully prepared dinner on the table, he forced down a few bites and gave up.

After cleaning up, Julius headed to his study and hopped on a video call with Sean Cahill to handle some urgent corporate matters.

When he finally checked the time, it was already past nine.

He went back to the master bedroom but didn't see Stella. However, the sound of running water from the bathroom told him she was in the shower.

He noticed her phone resting on the nightstand. The screen lit up with a push notification for a male celebrity's new photoshoot.

Stella was into this sort of thing?

Driven by a sudden, intense curiosity, he sneakily picked up her phone and bypassed the lock screen in seconds.

She never posted anything on social media, yet she was always snapping photos. Surely a quick peek into her camera roll wouldn't hurt, right?

He'd allow himself to be a little sneaky just this once.
