This kind of extreme mountain dirt bike climb was incredibly dangerous. One wrong move meant a devastating crash. Beyond skill and stamina, survival largely relied on pure luck.
Even if Stella was capable and knew how to throw a punch, she certainly wasn't experienced enough to compete in something this hardcore.
What on earth was going through Jason's empty head?
Desperate to save his own skin, Jason stammered, "Julius, let me explain! I swear, I didn't push her into this, she volunteered to race for me."
He thought Stella's disguise was flawless. Even that trust-fund playboy Weber hadn't noticed a thing. How had Julius seen right through it?
Stella was covered from head to toe in gear. What exactly gave her away?
"I'm pulling her out. Who cares about your stupid bet with Weber? If you lose, you lose. Nothing is more important than Stella."
Jason grabbed his arm to stop him. "It's too late to back out now! We could have called it off before it started, but we can't do it now.
"The whole thing is being live-streamed, and you're the CEO of Blackwood Group. Even with your sunglasses on, someone will recognize you.
"If you march out there and drag her away, the media will have a field day. People are going to speculate like crazy.
"It could crash the company's stock! And besides, Julius, you need to trust her. She's not as weak as you think."
Jason pleaded with him, desperately hoping his brother would see reason.
"As long as Stella is safe, I don't give a damn what anyone thinks. Let them speculate. If the stock drops, it drops. I don't care. Besides, I rarely make public appearances; not many people will recognize me."
Weber's guy truly was skilled. Riding his momentum perfectly, he actually crested the peak.
Weber jumped into the air, screaming, "Yes! Let's go!"
So far, none of the other challengers had managed to clear the hill except for his guy.
He refused to believe whoever Jason had hired could beat his professional.
Of course, the other participants were just there for show. He had bribed them all beforehand to ensure they purposely failed the challenge.
He was walking away as the winner today.
