"Jason told me that Weber guy is a complete trust-fund playboy who ruins women's lives. He's into both men and women, and he's even driven women to suicide, only to pay off their families to make it go away. I couldn't stomach letting a scumbag like that win."
A jerk like him didn't deserve the satisfaction of victory.
"But how does a girl from the country know how to ride extreme dirt bikes? And how did Jason know you could ride?"
Jason, that absolute idiot. Why the hell was he telling her about a degenerate playboy's exploits?
Stella's eyes darted around the room. This was getting hard to explain. What was she supposed to do?
Was she supposed to admit that Jason caught her street racing?
Street racing was illegal!
If Julius found out, he would probably blow a blood vessel.
"I... I went riding with some people back in the countryside. As for Jason... he... I don't know how he found out. Why don't you just ask him yourself?"
She really didn't know how to spin this. If she had known it would come to this, she would have gotten her story straight with Jason first.
Julius aggressively ran his hands through his hair again. After two passes, his usually immaculate hair was completely disheveled.
Stella couldn't help but stare. Why did his messy hair actually make him look younger and even more handsome?
He must be incredibly frustrated and helpless. A man who cared that much about his appearance had actually messed up his own hair twice.
"D-Don't be mad. I'll go make you some food!"
Without waiting for an answer, Stella tried to bolt. The silence was suffocating, and she figured he needed a minute to cool off.
"Stop right there! Come back."
Stella cautiously turned around. "You... you're not going to hit me, are you?"
If this jerk dared to lay a hand on her, she'd make him regret it!
Julius raised his hand, instinctively wanting to pull at his hair again, but forced it down. He was going to go bald early at this rate.
After dealing with the bet, Jason had returned to his apartment to pack a few clothes, fully intending to seek asylum at his grandmother's house for a few days.
But the moment he zipped up his bag, his brother's video call popped up on his screen.
He was doomed. His brother was coming for his head. Could he just decline the call?
But he knew that ignoring it would only make Julius infinitely more furious.
He answered the call with a trembling voice. "J-Julius, what's up?"
"Jason, I just had a long talk with Stella. She already told me everything. Now I want to hear your side of the story, just to see if she was actually telling me the truth."
Stella internally groaned: *When did I ever tell him everything?!*
No wonder he told her to sit quietly, look at her phone, and not give Jason any hints.
He was baiting Jason into confessing!
