"Then do you have the guts to confront Ashley face-to-face? If she admits she orchestrated all of this, then I'll believe what you just said is true, and I'll forgive you."
Desperate to win back her trust, Logan puffed out his chest. "Of course I do! Ashley masterminded the entire thing. I'm not lying to you, and I can call her right now to confess to your face."
"Fine. I don't have time right now; I have to go visit my grandmother. Tomorrow at noon, meet me at the old spot the three of us always hang out at."
Seeing his opening, Logan finally stepped out of her way. "Go ahead. Ashley and I will be there on time."
Having shaken off Logan's harassment, Sabrina got into her car and peeled out, leaving him choking in a cloud of exhaust.
Logan spat on the pavement, muttering "stupid bitch" under his breath before turning away to hunt down Ashley.
The following day at noon.
Logan and Ashley arrived at The Veranda, the spot the three of them used to frequent.
Because this was the exact place where Ashley had originally introduced Logan to Sabrina, it had naturally become their regular hangout.
The two of them sat waiting for over ten minutes, but Sabrina was nowhere to be seen.
"Ashley, do you think Sabrina is deliberately leaving us hanging to mess with us?"
"No, she's actually pretty true to her word. If she said she's coming, she's coming. She's probably just stuck in traffic."
"Then we'll keep waiting. Just remember, when she gets here, you have to stick exactly to the script we practiced. We have to make her forgive me today. If my company goes under, you won't have a good life either."
"I know, relax. I know exactly how she operates. Manipulating her is child's play."
"Then why did you drug me on September 2nd, the night of Ashley's birthday? And what exactly did you slip into my drink? If you don't come clean right now, there's absolutely no chance I'll ever forgive you."
"Sabrina, it was just a mild sedative to make you pass out! It wasn't anything that would permanently harm you. And Ashley was the one who gave me the pills!"
Having delivered his lines, Logan shot a pointed look at Ashley and aggressively kicked her leg under the table. "Ashley, say something! Are you just going to sit there and let Sabrina and me suffer through this massive misunderstanding?!"
Ashley took a slow sip of her drink before plastering a look of agonizing guilt onto her face. "Sabrina, I know I crossed a massive line. I am so terribly sorry.
I was the one who gave Logan those pills that night. And after you passed out, I was the one who hired those two men to take you away.
Sabrina, I'm so sorry. I betrayed you. I betrayed our entire friendship. You can hit me, you can scream at me, whatever you want—but please, don't hold this against Logan, okay?"
She could stomach playing the villain for now. Once this naive idiot forgave Logan, Ashley would have her completely wrapped around her finger again anyway.
